Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was assassinated while giving a speech on the street. While the international community was shocked, they expressed their grief and condolences, and recalled his political achievements and contributions to the world. Some American media and scholars pointed out that one of Abe's contributions was to make the world better prepared for the challenges of the CCP. He was the first whistleblower to warn the CCP of disrupting the normal order of the world.

Shinzo Abe was Japan's longest-serving prime minister. During his lifetime, he made considerable achievements in Japan's domestic and foreign affairs, and left an important political legacy to the world.

American "Washington Post" columnist Josh Rogin wrote in an article on 8 July 2022 that Abe is most remembered by the world for his early warning of the challenges posed by the expansion of the CCP's influence to the world, and for the long-term global response to this issue, he made a major contribution to the problem.

Rogin said that with its growing national power and influence, the CCP is constantly weakening regional peace, undermining the world's prosperity and security system, and Abe was one of the first international political leaders to realize this and respond actively.

In response to the destructive challenges of the CCP, Abe launched "Abenomics" in domestic affairs to strengthen Japan's economic development. At the same time, he readjusted Japan's foreign policy, enhanced Japan's alliance with the United States, and expanded diplomatic relations with Australia and India, contributing to maintaining peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. The article said that Abe has set an example for the international community in how to respond to the challenges of the CCP.

In his article, Rogin emphasized that the current conceptual framework of U.S. policy toward East Asia can be traced back to Abe's initiatives and remarks, such as the idea of a "free and open Indo-Pacific". Abe actively promoted Japan's relations with the United States, Australia and India, and played a "crucial" role in the gradual formation and formalization of the "Quartet Security Dialogue". The alliance of countries focusing on common values is also Abe's signature approach.

In addition, Abe has repeatedly warned the CCP authorities about the threat to Taiwan. He publicly called on the United States to abandon the policy of "strategic ambiguity", and even bluntly stated that "If there is something in Taiwan, there is something in Japan."

Rogin emphasized that Abe has contributed greatly to the fact that Western countries are now beginning to respond to the CCP's attempts to erode the values of democracy and freedom.

Professor Chen Kuide, publisher and editor-in-chief of the "Overview of China" online journal, also made a similar comment on Abe. In an interview with Radio Free Asia on 8 July, he pointed out that Abe is the whistleblower who warns the world about the CCP's destructive nature to destroy the world order.

Chen Kuide said that Abe is one of the most important and influential prime ministers in Japan after the war. He has many very important political achievements. For example, he has promoted the normalization of Japan, and his "Abenomics" has boosted the Japan's nationalism and revitalization of the economy have a very important contribution.

Ampere also made important contributions to China policy and regional policy. For example: After the US government abolished the TPP (Trans-Pacific Economic Partnership), it was Abe who continued to bring together another 11 countries to establish a regional economic integration mechanism that did not include Communist China.

Chen Kuide said that "Abe is a very important whistleblower" regarding the negative impact of the CCP regime on the existing world order. He was the first to address this danger in depth to the Western world, and it was his diplomatic legacy of world trends. In addition, Japan played a very important role in the security of Taiwan when Abe was in power.

Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot and stabbed to death on July 8 while he was helping candidates on the street. Abe was originally scheduled to visit Taiwan at the end of July and early August, and he would also deliver a speech in the House of Representatives of the Legislative Yuan, but it has been impossible to achieve. Abe's first public live speech to Taiwan on 1 December 2021, became the only one. In his speech "Taiwan-Japan Relations in the New Era", Abe put forward the famous "If there is something in Taiwan, there is something in Japan, it is also the same as if there is something in the Japan-US alliance. ".

Tian Hongmao, chairman and president of the National Institute of Policy Studies and former foreign minister, issued a condolence article on the 9th, expressing "the deepest grief and condolences to the closest foreign leader."

Tian Hongmao pointed out that a few paragraphs of Prime Minister Abe’s speech at the National Institute of National Policy last year also deeply touched the hearts of the Taiwanese people, “It’s a pity that Prime Minister Abe’s touching speech turned out to be an absolute no-brainer. But it's the only time."

Prime Minister Abe said: "In the international arena of wrestling, Taiwan is almost not recognized. Taiwan has faced such a situation for just 50 years. Dear Taiwanese friends, in the long years of the past half century, they have endured with perseverance and perseverance. It has also been 25 years since Taiwan's democratization movement. It is just at the age of growing up from an infant. The international community must recognize and know that Taiwan has become a mature democratic country." "As long as there is a candle, Enough is enough to light the fire. Where the candle shines, democracy shines."

In the speech, Abe used Japanese and delivered it via video at a discussion hosted by the Academy of National Policy Studies. The following is the full text of the speech:

Hello everyone. I am Shinzo Abe.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the National Policy Institute, Chen Qichuan Cultural and Educational Foundation, and all relevant persons of the Society for Contemporary Japanese Studies, who held the "Influence Forum" and invited individuals to participate, especially Dr. Tian Hongmao, Chairman and Dean of the National Policy Institute, personally. I would like to express my sincere thanks.

First of all, I would like to introduce to you the environment in which Japan and Taiwan are located, and my personal views. Secondly, I will explain to you how we should urge China (the Communist Party) to take self-restraint actions. I will also explain to you what measures Japan has taken to achieve the above goals on FOIP (Free and Open Indo-Pacific) and QUAD (Quarterly Security Dialogue). Finally, for the next generation of newborns, I hope to build a beautiful Taiwan. As a summary of my personal speech, I would like to make a report to you.

First of all, I will explain the changes of the times and regions in terms of personal cognition.

The environment Japan and Taiwan will face in the future will be full of tension and challenges. In this case, I personally think that under a free and open democratic structure, we should be closely integrated, and continuous efforts are the focus. Wait a minute, I will also mention to you that under the same thinking, Japan has made many efforts to expand its strategic space in the fields of economy, trade, security and diplomacy.

According to the same thinking mode, I personally support Taiwan's participation in the TPP.

To comply with laws and regulations, maintain international order and strengthen related functions, I personally think the role played by the TPP is very important, and Taiwan has sufficient conditions to join the TPP. In addition, in the fields of medical treatment, health care, climate change, or in aviation, communications, criminal prevention, etc., for all people, it is a matter of life and death, of great concern.

Having said that, behind the scenes of international wrestling, Taiwan's right to speak on the above-mentioned issues is hardly recognized. This year, 2021, Taiwan is facing such a situation, just turning 50 years. Dear Taiwanese friends, in the long years of the past half century, we have endured the burden with perseverance and perseverance. Participating as an observer in international organizations such as the WHO, and possibly other areas, should give Taiwan an appropriate voice. Based on the above considerations, individuals will do their best to assist Taiwan in order to urge it to be realized. Of course, it is also necessary to obtain assistance and support from the United States and European countries.

Second, China (CCP China) has continued to increase its military expenditures.

In the past 30 years, CCP China's military expenditure has grown 42 times, which is four times higher than Japan's defense budget. In 2049, Beijing will celebrate the centenary of the founding of the PRC. Over the next nearly 30 years, China's economic and military spending is projected to grow by 7% annually. As a result, CCP China's budget for economic and military expenditures will be as much as 8 times higher than it is now. For the new generation in the future, the next 30 years will be the most important and crisis-filled era for East Asia, no, it should be said for world history.

In the face of the actions of China (CCP China), we will face a more advanced and complex environment in terms of technology, which will make it more difficult for you and me to distinguish, where is the line between peacetime and wartime? The field of crisis has expanded to space and cyberspace. The social infrastructure we have must consider the risks that are exposed at any time and how to strengthen protection. When it comes to the challenges surrounding Taiwan, it is no different from the challenges faced by Japan's territory and territorial waters such as the Senkaku Islands (Diaoyutai), the Sendo Islands, and Yonaguni Island. We must deploy ahead of time to guard against China's continuous military provocations from the air, sea and seabed.

So, how should Japan and Taiwan respond?

Individuals really have no right to say what policies Taiwan should take to respond. However, I will only elaborate on one point. That is to hold high the banner of universal values such as freedom and democracy, human rights and the rule of law, so that everyone in the world can clearly see it. It is necessary for us to fly this banner and carry it forward. Japan and Taiwan must work together. Democracy is a system that pursues people's hearts and promises spontaneously; it is not something that is forced from the top down by means of power. It is precisely because of this that democracy will be stronger. This is my personal view.

Next, the individual will explain how we should urge the Chinese (CCP Chinese) country to be able to exercise self-control. As Prime Minister, every time I meet with President Xi Jinping, I will mention not to misjudge Japan's determination and will to defend Diaoyutai. Every time, the meaning of Japan will be clearly conveyed to the Chinese (communist) countries. The Senkaku Islands (Diaoyutai), Sendao Islands, Yonaguni Island and other outlying islands are only about 100 kilometers away from Taiwan. The military aggression against Taiwan, both geographically and spatially, is a major danger to Japan's territory, and Japan cannot tolerate such a situation.

"There is something in Taiwan" is equivalent to "there is something in Japan", and it can also be said to be equivalent to the "Japan-US alliance". This perception, the leadership in Beijing, especially President Xi Jinping, must not be misjudged. Everyone in the world should now re-look at the map of this area and the surrounding waters, and I believe they can fully understand what I am talking about now.

World history, teach us when and under what circumstances did wars occur? Always thinking about one's own convenience or interests, but neglecting the will of the other party, and misjudging their intentions, will often lower the threshold of military adventure. To prevent this from happening, we must improve our abilities and express our firm will. In addition, Japan and Taiwan and all people who believe in democracy personally think that we must repeatedly appeal to President Xi Jinping and the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party to not go astray.

Taking military adventures is tantamount to a path to economic suicide.

China is indeed huge and has close relations with the world economy. If (the CCP) takes military adventures against Taiwan, it will have a very serious impact on the world economy. In other words, China itself will also suffer a major blow. We must build up our economic and military strength. In addition to continuing to demonstrate our strength to counter (the CCP), we must repeatedly persuade China to take a rational and peaceful solution. If China also prioritizes its own interests, cross-Strait relations (in the Taiwan Strait) can only be resolved peacefully in the final analysis. During my tenure as Prime Minister, I have devoted myself to expanding Japan’s strategic space. Another is to urge China (the Communist Party) to take self-restraint actions, and I have also taken various countermeasures.

In late 2012, during my second term as prime minister, I made up my mind to make Japan better able to defend itself. Japan had been cutting its defense budget for the past decade. Individuals flip it around and increase the defense budget every year to this day. For example, Japan has purchased the most advanced F-35 stealth fighter, with a total of 147, and has already begun to carry out actual combat equipment. In addition, new cruise missiles were introduced and self-developed, and the Ground Self-Defense Forces were stationed on Yonaguni Island and Miyako Island to demonstrate their determination to never compromise. As mentioned above, the strength of the Japan-U.S. alliance can only be strengthened by continuous efforts to strengthen the ability to protect one's own country.

For individuals, although this consumes a lot of political capital, as long as the situation that affects Japan's life and death occurs, Japan and the United States can join hands to exercise the right of collective self-defense. In addition, the Self-Defense Forces can also play the role of guardians of U.S. fighter planes and ships in peacetime. Many people think this is a very natural thing, but it took a lot of thought and effort to achieve it. Although the number of guard executions cannot be announced to the public, it does increase every year. The Japan-US joint military exercise, which was held about 20 times a year twenty years ago, has increased to 49 times last year in 2020. Through the above efforts, when an individual gave a speech in the US Congress, he pointed out the Japan-US alliance, which can also be said to be an "alliance of hope". In the future world, the cornerstone of a stable life for regional peace, stability and security, and for the people, is the value of the Japan-US alliance. That's why I say this is an "alliance of hope".

After Japan and the United States built the core of the big, I put forward a new concept of "Indo-Pacific". Now, including the United States, Australia, India, and many countries in the world, have quoted this term. The most representative democratic network under the Indo-Pacific architecture is QUAD, the Quadrilateral Security Talks. The United States continues to use the ideas put forward by individuals even as the political parties rotate. Not only that, but elevating it to a leadership-level conversation, which is highly valued by the individual. This concept focuses on the Indo-Pacific region. First, the freedom of navigation and the rule of law must be maintained, so that universal values can be more popularized and implemented. Second, through high-quality infrastructure construction, we can enhance mutual connectivity and jointly pursue economic prosperity. Third, including assisting in improving the enforcement capacity of the law of the sea, etc., to pursue peace and stability, and to join hands with countries and people who share the same common values and common values.

For Japan, which attaches great importance to universal values, Taiwan's existence is like a cornerstone. Personally, I would like to emphasize this point. Let us close our eyes, everyone, and imagine ourselves in a state of darkness, darkness. Machine guns are completely useless to remove the darkness. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom I respect very much, once said such a sentence.

"As long as one candle is enough, it can be used to light it. Where the candle shines, democracy shines." Prime Minister Modi's remarks are impressive.

It has been 25 years since the democratization movement in Taiwan. Just a human, from an infant to an adult age. It is necessary for the world to recognize and know that Taiwan has become a mature democracy.

Taiwan's economic power surpasses that of Poland and Sweden, and its population is about 6 million more than that of the Netherlands. According to the theory of the Mercator projection, if Taiwan were moved to higher latitudes, Taiwan would be roughly the size of Scotland or Denmark. The democratic system that has taken root in Taiwan, in the next 25 years, when the infants and children born today become adults, if Taiwan's democracy can become stronger and more solid, isn't it a beautiful thing? ?

Working together in this direction, including Japan, is the shared responsibility of all countries that respect freedom, human rights, democracy and the rule of law, as well as the international community.

First of all, we must work together to assist Taiwan to participate in international organizations such as the WHO, and to enhance Taiwan's international status.

A stronger Taiwan, a Taiwan that thrives, and a Taiwan that guarantees freedom and human rights are also in Japan's interests. Of course, this is also in the interest of the world.

The above is my keynote speech today. Thank you for your advanced listening, thank you all.
