Abnormal sense of smell is no longer an indicator of BA.5 covid, experts reveal that BA.5 "symptoms" may last for 7 days

Image : Loss of smell and taste are no longer the defining symptoms of the BA.5 covid outbreak (Web Screenshot)

The Omicron BA.5 variant swept the world, and even slowly became the mainstream virus strain. Following the epidemic in Europe and the United States, Japan also caused the seventh wave of the epidemic due to BA.5. The number of confirmed cases in a single day exceeded 110,000 yesterday, and infections also appeared in Taiwan. The source of the BA.5 community case is yet to be clarified,. Wu Changteng, the chief physician of the Children's General Medicine Department of Linkou Chang Gung Hospital, reminded that the loss of smell and taste is no longer the indicator symptoms of this wave of epidemics.

Sore throat the most common symptom of BA.5 covid lasts for a week

After infection with BA.4 and BA.5 mutant strains , the most common symptom is "sore throat" and lasts for 7 days.

News (8)

65% of covid cases are BA.5 as of 9 July 2022

Since the emergence of Omicron, the mainstream position of the global epidemic has been in the hands of the Omicron family. Wu Changteng said that the key behind this is Omicron's immune escape ability, that is, the ability to break through "natural immunity" or "vaccine immunity". According to the latest data from the U.S. CDC, as of the week of 9 July, more than 81.3% of newly diagnosed infections in the US were BA.4 and BA.5, of which BA.5 accounted for 65%. A week ago, BA.4 and BA.5 infections accounted for 70% of new diagnoses.

Sore throat the most common symptom of BA.5 covid, followed by headache

A British study found that loss of smell and taste is no longer the most "indicative" symptom of covid diagnosis in this wave of epidemics, and the first most common symptom of infection in this wave is "sore throat", which is reported by about 58% of confirmed patients. The other top ten symptoms were headache (49%), cough without phlegm (40%), runny nose (40%), cough with phlegm (37%), hoarse voice (35%), sneezing (32%) %), fatigue (27%), muscle pain (25%), dizziness (18%).

Third dose of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine 48.5% effective against BA.5

The third dose of Pfizer vaccine was only 48.5% effective in preventing infection with BA.5 two weeks after vaccination. Experts believe this ratio shows a limited effect of supplements. Moreover, BA.5 has the function of evading immunity, and the effect of vaccine against BA.5 is 4 times lower than that of BA.2.

Reinfection and fuyang of BA.2 patients after 1 month of recovery with BA.5 infection is getting common

Wu Changteng warned according to Australian research that more and more patients who had been infected with BA.2 were reinfected after 4 weeks of recovery with BA.5 infection. Wu Changteng said, "We have to recognize the reality that the immunity that everyone has acquired from vaccines and previous infections will decline over time, so the situation of 'breakthrough infection' (fuyang) and 'reinfection' will happen."

In addition, 2 new BA.5 local cases were added on 18 July 2022 in Taiwan. They are men in their 50s (hereinafter referred to as Case A and Case B), who were infected by a family cluster. Case A picked up 2 people from the airport on 27 June. The family members who entered the United States and were tested and confirmed to return to their homes for quarantine. The subsequent sequenced result of a family member who was confirmed to enter the United States on July 6 was BA.5. After relevant epidemic investigation and PCR testing, the accompanying family members and Case A were both BA. 5.

Case B went to the airport with another family member on 1 July to pick up a family member who had entered Italy and returned to home for quarantine. The family took a positive test at the airport, and the sequenced result was BA.5 on the 9th. After arranging for Case B and the family who picked up the plane to take a PCR test, Case B was positive and diagnosed as BA.5, and the other family was PCR-tested for the first time negative, positive after sequencing in Case B. During gene sequencing, Case B and another family member are currently in isolation; the other two listed as workplace contacts, the test results were all negative.

BA.5 has come! The number of repeated infections may increase sharply. Medical exposure: the shortest is only 20 days

Reporter : Wang Xinyi / https://news.tvbs.com.tw/life/1850325Image : More superinfections will also occur in the future. (Photo/TVBS)

Omicron BA.5 has gradually become a mainstream virus strain, and the first local community BA.5 case has also appeared in Taiwan. The case was diagnosed in May, and it was suspected the case has infected family members in July. After sequencing, it was found that it was BA.5 mutant strain, and the source of infection is still being clarified. Jiang Guanyu, a doctor in the Zhongxing Hospital of Beijing Union Medical College, said that BA.5 has become the mainstream in Europe and the United States, and the prevalence rate and hospitalization rate have increased, and more repeated infections will occur in the future. Symptoms of reinfection may be more severe even for high-risk groups.

News (16)

Fastest record of Omicron reinfection is 20 days after the first infection

According to Jiang Guanyu's foreign research and analysis, the fastest record of Omicron's repeated infection occurred 20 days after the first infection, but is it possible that the symptoms of reinfection will be more serious?

News (17)

Groups with more severe reinfection include smokers, diabetes and heart disease patients besides those unvaccinated

Jiang Guanyu said that some studies have shown that the symptoms of secondary reinfection will be more severe, and the groups with more severe reinfection in the study included an average of 62 years old, 25% were smokers, 80–90% were unvaccinated, and 30–40% had  diabetes, 19–26% had heart disease, so the overall relative risk of reinfection is indeed higher for high-risk groups.

Jiang Guanyu appealed, especially now that the cases of BA.4 and BA.5 mutants are increasing, they should be more careful. For example, the number of hospitalizations in other European countries continues to rise, so the elderly are recommended to take a fourth supplementary dose.

News (18)

Fuyang cases occur after taking Paxlovid were known

Jiang Guanyu said that even patients who take antiviral drugs after infection may fuyang. Jiang Guanyu said that in the United States, 5% to 10% of patients will still resume covi-positive (fuyang) after taking Paxlovid, which is about the first time after treatment. The fuyang will occur in 10-14 days, which is related to the protein sequence mutation of Q189K in the Omicron virus that evades the drug binding point. Therefore, if you take Pfizer's oral drug, even if the test is negative, you should still quickly screen regularly, because if you fuyang, you may still be contagious.

Ninety-nine-year-old elderly in Shanghai is critically ill after being vaccinated. Neighbourhood committee: Theoretically signed

Recently, the news that two elderly people in their 90s in Shanghai were forced to be vaccinated in their homes by the residents of the neighborhood committee was in danger of becoming ill, which caused heated discussions on CCP Chinese online social platforms. The neighborhood committee involved recently responded that the vaccination had been approved by the elderly and doctors, and "theoretically signed." This statement was questioned by public opinion.

Shanghai netizen @王王的仙贝 posted a video on the social networking platform on 14 July, revealing that the neighborhood committee of Lane 1320, Linfen Road, Jing'an District, came to her door to vaccinate her 98-year-old grandfather without permission. Afterwards, the elderly suffered from complications and was in critical condition, and the doctor has issued a critical illness notice.

The family members said that the old man had bad ears and also suffered from Alzheimer's disease (commonly known as Alzheimer's disease), and the old man did not agree to be vaccinated at first.

The family members asked, "According to regulations, community members aged 70 and above need to be accompanied by family members or community volunteers to vaccinate the elderly. Why did the neighborhood committee not notify the family members of the vaccination for the elderly at home? The elderly's signature letter, the children's informed letter Do you have it? Can you get the doctor's judgment?"

According to "Dongfang.com Vertical Video", in the afternoon of 15 July 2022, local time, the neighbourhood committee of Lane 1320, Linfen Road, Jing'an District, Shanghai responded to the incident of vaccinating 98-year-olds at their homes. The neighborhood committee said that the doctor and the cadres of the neighborhood committee came to the door that day. After the old man agreed and the doctor evaluated, there was also a nanny at home, and there was no "forcibly hitting him".

As for whether the party concerned by the netizens has signed the vaccination commitment letter, the neighborhood committee replied: "In theory, there is something signed, but in the end it will not be handed over to us, but the doctor."

On the 16th, the Shanghai Pengpu Xincun Sub-district Office issued an official announcement in the media, saying that when the neighborhood committee accompanied two community medical staff to vaccinate the elderly Wang Moumou and his wife Lin XX, the doctor asked about the old man's physical condition. Judging that the two elderly people have no contraindications related to the new crown vaccination, Lin XX completed the vaccination for the two elderly people after signing the informed consent form of the two elderly people. During the observation period, the two elderly people did not feel sick.

In response to the above responses made by the neighborhood committee and the sub-district office, the family members of the elderly who were vaccinated did not agree. A netizen who claimed to be a family member of the elderly left a message saying that the elderly are bedridden all the year round and have mental illnesses, how can they have their own judgment?

"Kaiping News" published a commentary on the 16th, saying that the focus of the disagreement between the two sides is the different basis for the determination of "agreement". From a common sense point of view, an old man who is nearly 100 years old, bedridden and mentally ill, said, "Don't talk about the ability to judge whether you agree or disagree with vaccination, that is, what a vaccine is, he may not know what it is. I don't know where the neighborhood committee and the doctor got their confidence, so they decided that the old man had 'agreed'."

The article mentioned that the family members of the old man also revealed a key detail, "The old man did not sign, and the words were signed by someone he did not know." The article questioned: So who signed the word?

As for the staff of the neighborhood committee, "Theoretically, there should be something signed." The article asked: "If you sign it, you sign it. If you don't sign it, you don't sign it. What is a 'theoretical signature'?"

In the end, the article pointed out that increasing the number of layers in order to "make merit" is actually "man-made panic", if the grassroots are allowed to do whatever they want in the name of epidemic prevention, "Today, you can compulsorily vaccinate the elderly in their 90s, will it be tomorrow? If you see who is not pleasing to the eye, you will get a shot?"

Two inbound cases of new strain of BA.2.75 appear in Singapore

Two inbound cases of covid have been reported locally with the BA.2.75 strain, a new variant that is said to be more contagious.

In response to the inquiry from 8world News, the Ministry of Health stated that as of the day before yesterday (14 July), there were two inbound cases of the new-generation mutant strain BA.2.75 of Omicron in Singapore.

The two cases had travelled to India, self-isolated immediately after being diagnosed, and have since recovered.

According to Time Magazine, BA.2.75 was first discovered in India, and has now invaded more than ten countries including the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom. This mutant strain is said to be more contagious. Experts worry that antibodies produced in vaccinated or recovered patients may not work against BA.2.75.

Scientists believe that BA.2.75 may spread very fast, and may easily "bypass" the antibodies in vaccinated or recovered people, but it is not known whether the symptoms caused by BA.2.75 will be more severe than other Omicron variants.

The Ministry of Health stated that there is currently no evidence that BA.2.75 is more severe than the previous Omicron variant. The World Health Organization just put BA.2.75 on the watch list the day before yesterday.

Debt defaults of real estate companies in CCP China have not triggered a systemic financial crisis

China's "unfinished building cut off supply tide" is sweeping across the country, and the four municipalities directly under the Central Government plus Guangzhou and Shenzhen have all fallen. Despite the successive debt defaults of real estate companies, this gray rhino has not triggered a systemic financial crisis. Will this wave of homeowners’ supply cuts trigger a financial crisis? Will there be bank failures? Who is the culprit among the government, real estate developers, and owners?

News (31)

Risk of bank interruption of loans in USD is higher in China than in Russia while inflation eases in the U.S. in June

Now the property market is in a turmoil, coupled with the dynamic zero-clearing policy, resulting in a national fiscal deficit of 5 trillion in the first half of the year, and the risk of bank interruption of supply is as high as 2 trillion.

Now China is not only having bad debts in RMB loans, but also the risk of bad debts in US dollar loans is also soaring. Outside the Belt and Road countries, there is news that Russia owes Chinese banks US$50 billion. Will Russia pay back the debt?

U.S. wholesale prices surged 11.3% in June to near-record levels, with inflation still easing.

News (32)

Financial turmoil hits CCP China's banks will be the first to collapse

The overall explosion of China's real estate industry seems to be more and more difficult to control, and an uncontrollable chain reaction is already underway. Liu Taiying, the former chairman of the Kuomintang Party Management Committee in Taiwan, pointed out that the CCP has a long-term trade surplus. It is reasonable to say that foreign exchange is sufficient and domestic funds are abundant. Why is there a bank run in Henan recently?

On 13 July 2022 Liu Taiying, the former chairman of the Kuomintang Party Management Committee in Taiwan, pointed out in an interview with Taiwanese media that the recent series of interest rate hikes in the United States to fight inflation, a large number of global funds will be moved back to the United States, causing global stock markets and foreign exchange markets to plummet, and the financial turmoil has struck. , especially China is the first to bear the brunt, coupled with the decline in real estate prices, Liu Taiying asserted that CCP China's banks will fail.

Liu Taiying also disclosed that he tried to ask Lin Yifu, who was the chief economist of the World Bank, but Lin Yifu was trembling and did not dare to answer, but pointed to the top. Liu Taiying believes that the CCP's dignitaries and wealthy businessmen have remitted a large amount of funds overseas, which has led to the CCP having a large amount of foreign exchange reserves, but domestic funds are extremely tight.

Liu Taiying also reminded not to ignore the impact of capital movement caused by the US interest rate hike. Only 5% of international capital movement is due to trade, and the other 95% is speculative hot money. Now the US interest rate hike, international hot money All will flock to the United States, which will have an impact on the stock and foreign exchange markets of countries other than the United States. Especially, the United States is now facing the most serious inflation in 40 years, and the pace of interest rate hikes will not stop for the time being.

Some analysts pointed out that, in fact, it is not only the local banks in Henan. Recently, abnormal situations have frequently appeared in many Chinese banks. What worries the CCP executives is the current situation of real estate that is closely related to banks. Debt defaults, unfinished buildings, and supply interruptions attacked.

Caixin.com reported in 2021 that more than 500 of Evergrande's more than 800 projects are in a state of shutdown. According to a report from the daily Toutiao, a Chinese media outlet, Evergrande currently has 778 uncompleted real estate projects under construction across the country, and about 700,000 sold houses have not yet been completed and delivered, covering more than 200 cities. The status of the more than 500 suspended works is unknown. If 500,000 owners can't receive the building, each household is 2 million yuan, and the funds involved will reach a full 1 trillion yuan, and this is just a company of Evergrande. How many unfinished buildings are there in CCP China? Official figures cannot be seen by the outside world, and under the government policy of "guaranteeing expectations", all real data are deliberately hidden.

Hao Ping: In the first half of the year, the fiscal deficit was 5 trillion, and the risk of bank supply interruption was 2 trillion

According to the data released by the Ministry of Finance of the Communist Party of China at the press conference on fiscal revenue and expenditure in the first half of 2022 on July 14, in the first half of this year, the national general public budget revenue was 10,522.1 billion yuan, the national government fund budget revenue was 2,796.8 billion yuan, and the general fiscal revenue was 13,318.9 billion yuan; the national general public budget expenditure was 12,888.7 billion yuan, the national government fund budgetary expenditure was 5,482.6 billion yuan, and the general fiscal expenditure was 18,371.3 billion yuan. In the first half of the year, the fiscal overrun was 5,053.4 billion yuan. In the first half of last year, the national fiscal overrun was about 718.1 billion yuan. This year's overspending increased by 703% year-on-year. No wonder Li Keqiang convened a meeting of 100,000 people to stabilize the economy, and then asked the leaders of the five provinces in the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta to show off and demand that the five provinces take the lead in stabilizing the economy.

Real estate explosion! It is suspected that a real estate developer bought the housing management bureau to transfer the funds, "the real money decision-making authority rests with the housing management bureau"

The capital chain of China's major real estate developers has broken, and there have been unfinished news about real estate projects in various places, and prospective owners have threatened to cut off their supply.

On social platforms, a video of a meeting between prospective owners and bank representatives was circulated. In the film, the bank revealed to prospective owners who purchased unfinished buildings that the real decision to allocate funds is not the bank, but the housing management bureau. Therefore, some netizens suspect that some real estate developers have bribed the leaders of the Housing Administration Bureau to transfer funds secretly.

In the Chinese real estate industry, there is originally a supervision account system to prevent the building from being unfinished. Before the building is completed, the funds contributed by the prospective owners should all be in the supervision account, and the relevant funds can only be used for starting the building; When meeting, they are concerned about the flow of cash in the supervision account. The most bizarre thing is that when the prospective owner asked this question, the bank's answer turned out to be "not sure".

Prospective owners: If the building is not capped, should the money in the custody account still be in the custody account?

Bank representative: Not sure.

Prospective Owner: Why? I have a question...is the regulatory funds only for construction? Housing construction for this project?

Bank representative: I have a question for you. I answer you with a very simple understanding: if you have deposited money here, you are our depositor, and I am a... (ordinary bank), right...

Prospective Owner: No, you are custodial accounts! You are not...(regular banks), you are custodian banks!

Bank representative: It is a custodial account. If you transfer money to a third party, if you transfer money to a third party, should I check whether you are buying food, noodles or a car, or a house or drugs?

Prospective owners: The pre-sale supervision money is used for housing construction! You are stealing the concept!

Under the questioning of the prospective owners, the bank representative finally admitted that the real right to decide the transfer of funds is not the bank, but the Housing Authority.

Bank representative: The final approval authority rests with the Housing Authority. The Housing Authority has a department that supervises and supervises the use of funds. If they say yes, we will transfer it.

Prospective owner: You don't have the power to oversee this fund, do you?

Bank representative: We do not have this power! Their money is put here, how do we control where his money goes?

In response to the bank representative's reply, the prospective owner said: Then why do you need to call a supervisory bank? The bank representative said: I'm sorry, we don't want to! This is stipulated by national laws and regulations.

As of the afternoon of 13 July 2022, according to the incomplete statistics of Fenghuang.com Real Estate, the owners of 101 unfinished properties in 47 cities in 18 provinces have publicly announced the "compulsory loan suspension":

Only the July data, the statistics on 13 July were incomplete, the growth rate was very fast, and various places began to follow the example. If this trend is followed, it is estimated that the scale of loan suspension will be very large soon:

"Nikkei Shimbun" reported that there are more than 80 ghost towns in Yunnan province alone, which have been built, not unfinished buildings. How many ghost towns are there in China? Nobody knows.

Sun Hongbin, the former real estate boss Sunac Real Estate (already thunderstorms), once publicly said something like a joke:

"After I spent 4 years in prison, what did I do when I came out? Food, clothing, housing and transportation were all very expensive, and I couldn’t afford it. Later, I started real estate because real estate didn’t cost money."

Real estate is such a lucrative industry that it can be done without money. Where does the capital come from? Sometimes it is borrowing, sometimes it is corruption, and many times it is there, just like the 20 unfinished buildings in Yunnan. Government relations were first established through (bribery) officials. Some of them did not give the government money after taking the land, mortgaged the land to the bank, and borrowed the money back to the government. Build another sales office, you can sell the house, and draw a steady stream of funds from the house slaves.

Selling a house and buying a house mainly involves four parties: the owner, the real estate developer, the local government, and the bank.

Where did the 1 million spent by the owner to buy a house go? There are three main flows, the land is bought to the government, the (future) interest is given to the bank, and the rest goes to the developers. This part of the developer includes construction costs, taxes, profits, etc.

There is a brief table, although it is not very accurate due to the large difference in land prices, but it can also clearly explain the problem:

It can be seen that the cost of land accounts for about 30-50%, all of which is given to the local government; while the cost of the main construction project only accounts for 15-20%.

There are also data to calculate how much local governments have taken out of it. According to data from the Ministry of Finance, the total revenue of local governments and real estate in 2020: 10.4 trillion yuan, of which land transfer fees are 8.4 trillion yuan; according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics: 2020 commercial housing sales are 17.4 trillion yuan. From this, it can be calculated that the local government has eaten 60% of the owner's purchase price, and the land transfer fee accounts for 48% of the total sales.

That is to say, if the owner buys a house for 1 million yuan, the local government takes 480,000 yuan (land sales) first, and the remaining 520,000 yuan is reserved for the real estate developer to build the building, pay taxes, and make profits. The cost may account for another 300,000, and the profit may only be 100,000.

It has not been capped yet, it's unfinished, and the bank has allocated all the money to the developer. Is it the owner's responsibility or the bank's responsibility?

No matter from the law, from the flow of money, or from the moral obligation, we all support the "unfinished loan suspension". Even from the perspective of other countries in the world, it has never been unfinished, and the owner has to continue to repay the loan.

Mr. Zheng said that doing nucleic acid by himself depends on the needs, "If I want to go out and do it, it is not safe to do it without crowding with them.

Now if they are found to be positive, they will be sent out for isolation and treatment. The nucleic acid was done in the third day of the secret, and there was nothing to be free.
