As we all know, the hard and flexible beak can be used for self-defense, feeding, climbing, etc. It is an important organ for the survival of birds. However, there is a poor parrot in Brazil whose life is in danger because of its severely damaged beak. Fortunately, it met a caring professional who rebuilt a new beak and give it a second chance to survive.

The beaks of parrots are generally larger, which are both defensive "weapons" and equivalent to their "hands". The parrot’s beak is very flexible. The sharp and curved beak on the upper part can be used as a spoon to pick up food, and it can also be used as a hook to help them climb and move; the lower part of the beak can chip away the nuts and help the upper part be fixed. .

The Brazilian parrot lost an important tool for feeding. When it was taken to the Renascer ACN Animal Protection Organization by rescuers, it had not eaten for several days. According to this situation, it will not be long before this parrot will starve to death.

Renascer ACN, located in Planura, Brazil, was established 3 years ago to save animals in "critical conditions".

The founder of the organization, Paulo Roberto Martins Nunziata, told the Bored Panda website that it was found to be in very bad condition when it had lost its beak during the rescue, so he decided to cooperate with orthopedic expert Dr. Maria (Maria ngela Panelli Marchió) to "recreate" it a beak to continue its life.

Paul said that Maria specializes in animal orthopedics, has rich experience in animal rescue, and is good at reconstructing artificial limbs. So they created an artificial bird's beak that worked perfectly and chose a resin material called polymethyl methacrylate. This new bird's beak would be very hard.

It is understood that this material is commonly known as acrylic or plexiglass. Its impact resistance and toughness are very good, and it is even used in the production of bulletproof glass. It is very light and fast-drying, making it a new mouth for parrots. Nevertheless.

Dr. Maria used the skull model to invert the acrylic material and then fixed it to the upper and lower beak of the parrot. The operation was very successful.

Paul said that the entire process is done by hand, and the polymethyl methacrylate used will dry and harden within three to five minutes, and it is strong enough to be removed with an electric saw.

This parrot has fully recovered after the operation and regained his normal life ability. Unfortunately, because this artificial bird's beak also has a lifespan, in order to ensure that the parrot's artificial bird's beak does not fall off or accidents occur, rescue organizations can no longer release it into the wild.

However, it is also very gratifying to see that it can live a normal life again and live happily!
