According to the Guangxi Airports Management Group, the "Nanning Wuxu Airport Reconstruction and Expansion Project Proposal" was recently approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. This means that Nanning Wuxu Airport's reconstruction and expansion project has been successfully completed, and Nanning Airport will usher in the era of dual runways.
According to the approval, the total investment in the reconstruction and expansion project of Nanning Airport is 6.52 billion RMB, including 5.77 billion RMB for the airport project and 750 million RMB for the air traffic control project. On the basis of the existing one, it was proposed to build a second runway with a length of 3800 metres and a width of 45 metres, as well as the corresponding taxiway system, and supporting the construction of auxiliary production facilities such as navigation lights, power supply, water supply, and fire fighting. The target design is to achieve passenger traffic of 48 million passengers and cargo and mail volume of 500,000 tons.
