Antonio García, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Honduras, confirmed on the Hongguo media "Proceso" that he has sought aid equivalent to NT$60 billion from my country, and criticized our side for "reading and not responding". In response to this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded on the evening of the 24th that the Chinese government took a positive view of the fact that Garcia "finally" admitted that the Honduras government had repeatedly asked us for huge amounts of aid. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also refuted the accusation of "reading and not replying", and pointed out that the Honduras government really "never responded" to the assistance plan proposed by the Republic of China.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again emphasized that since the President of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, took office in January 2022, the Republic of China has actively continued to discuss bilateral cooperation plans with Honduras in accordance with the priorities of the Honduras government. Hongfang said that my country is willing to assist Hongguo to promote construction and development within the scope of foreign aid capabilities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that in response to the financial difficulties of the Hongguo government, in addition to Zhang Junfei, the Chinese ambassador to Honduras, who was ordered to consult with the Honduras Ministry of Foreign Affairs many times, Yu Dalei, the executive vice minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, even went to Honduras to explain to the Honduras government. In response to Taiwan's plan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also met with Hongguo Ambassador to Taiwan several times to explain in person, and asked the Ambassador to faithfully convey Taiwan's sincerity to the case and assistance to Hongguo Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Republic of China has always responded positively to the Hongguo government's proposals within its capabilities, and there is no such thing as "reading and never replying." On the contrary, the Honduras government has never responded to the assistance plan proposed by Taiwan.

Admit! The Deputy Foreign Minister of Honduras confirmed that he had asked Taiwan for 60 billion Taiwan dollars in aid

Honduras asked Taiwan for a huge amount of financial aid a few days ago. At first Honduras denied the claim, but the latest news pointed out that Honduras's Deputy Foreign Minister Antonio García confirmed in an interview that he had asked Taiwan to provide US$2 billion ( about NT$60.6 billion) to help build local hospitals and invest in factories, but did not receive a positive response.

According to the local media "Proceso", García said in an interview that in the past, he proposed to Taiwan a US$2 billion foreign debt restructuring request, which included low-interest loans, building hospitals and investing in factories. It took half a year to negotiate, but Taiwan still did not respond positively. So, "the government must give the people answers and seek better conditions for the people."

The report pointed out that García revealed that after receiving no response from Taiwan, President Xiomara Castro decided to instruct Foreign Minister Eduardo Reina to seek diplomatic relations with CCP China. Garcia pointed out that Honduras must keep pace with the world as soon as possible. At present, most countries in the world, including the United States, have established diplomatic relations with CCCP hina, and CCP China is the factory of the world.

Garcia mentioned that the request for US$2 billion is to let the people who trust the government show results, and at the same time express gratitude to Taiwan for its efforts, but the country must still consider opportunities. This is the decision made by the president.
