In response to the local covid epidemic slowing down, currently only public transportation, medical institutions, and long-term care institutions are required to wear masks; the Central Epidemic Command Center directs Official Wang Bisheng to explain on 23 March 2023 that the command center is simultaneously reviewing the "no mandatory wearing of masks" on public transportation and the relaxation of infection control in medical institutions.

Wang Bisheng explained at the epidemic press conference on 23 March that the command center is currently reviewing everything according to the plan. The new system of isolation for mild covid cases, that is implemented on 20 March 2023, will take time to observe, but the command center has started two things at the same time. To further open things up, one is to reopen the mask policy for public transport, and change it to a recommendation instead of mandatory wearing. This needs to be discussed with the Ministry of Communications and relevant ministries.

Second, Wang Bisheng said that it is to discuss the deregulation of special wards in hospitals and infection control measures, and will continue to communicate. The mandatory wearing of masks in medical institutions should continue for a period of time, and will be announced when there are further decisions.

As for the time when public transport users will be exempted from wearing masks, Wang Bisheng said, "It will be in mid-April, after the Qingming holiday it will be reviewed."

There is a big difference between purple rice and black rice! Nutritionist: choose "it" low GI, anti-inflammation

Image : A nutritionist said that black rice not only has a lower GI value than purple rice, but also has a higher anthocyanin content, which can help the body fight inflammation and maintain a good complexion. (file photo)

In recent years, the awareness of health preservation has risen but many people think that purple rice is a healthier choice than white rice. Nutritionist Liu Fuxuan reminded that it is not safe to eat purple rice because it will cause large fluctuations in blood sugar and easy to cause flatulence. If you really want to eat rice, it is recommended to choose black rice. Not only the GI value is higher, purple rice is low in content and high in anthocyanin content, which can help fight inflammation in the body and maintain a good complexion.

Is purple rice healthier? Liu Fuxuan posted on the Facebook fan page "Liu Fuxuan Nutritionist" that the choice of breakfast encourages everyone to eat as much as possible, eating like an emperor to replenish energy throughout the day, while lunch and dinner use high-quality meat, a lot of vegetables, and a moderate amount of whole grains, which is mainly rice but it is worth noting that many friends often think that "purple rice (black glutinous brown rice)" is a healthier choice than white rice but its glycemic index should not be underestimated.

Liu Fuxuan explained that purple rice, also known as black glutinous brown rice, contains a lot of amylopectin and tastes glutinous and soft. It is often used as eight-treasure porridge, mochi, rice cakes and other desserts. Because it is a type of glutinous rice, it will affect blood sugar. Larger fluctuations are also more likely to cause flatulence. Therefore, when buying healthy bento, choosing purple rice does not mean that you can eat more with confidence. At this time, you can choose black rice. Black rice is a kind of indica rice, not only has a lower GI value than purple rice , the content of anthocyanins is also high, which can help fight inflammation in the body and maintain a good complexion.

Liu Fuxuan emphasized that if you are a superstarch lover, you can replace rice with konjac rice with a similar taste, or mushroom rice and cauliflower rice that are popular among fitness and fat-reducing groups. Special reminder. Consumers should still pay attention to the food additives on the package when purchasing rice. If you add too much extra, it is not recommended to buy. Eating too many additives will still increase the burden on the liver, which will affect metabolism and weight loss.

CCP China approves first domestic mRNA vaccine, international experts worry

Reporter : Wang Yanqiao / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2023/03/23/a103674495.html / Image : Video Screenshot

On Wednesday (22 March 2023), the CCP approved the first domestically produced mRNA vaccine. However, this vaccine has not even completed the second phase of clinical trials. International experts were surprised and reminded the public to be cautious.

On 22 March 2023, China CSPC announced that the self-developed mRNA vaccine (SYS6006) was approved by the Chinese Drug Administration and included in the vaccine for emergency use. This is the first mRNA vaccine product independently developed by the CCP that has been authorized for emergency use.

Lin Xiaoxu, former director of the Department of Virology Laboratory of the U.S. Army Research Institute, said, "The new mRNA vaccine developed by CSPC actually has many disadvantages. First of all, this vaccine has not even completed the second phase of clinical trials."

CSPC claims that this vaccine covers the core mutation site of the Omicron BA.5 mutant strain. In April 2022, it received emergency approval from the State Food and Drug Administration of the Communist Party of China for clinical trials, and passed the clinical research on more than 5,500 people.

Lin Xiaoxu: "The so-called testing of 5,000 people is actually a clinical trial of a booster dose. A booster injection is given to see its protection rate. So the vaccine itself is used alone. The protection rate is nonexistent. His current media reports give people the illusion that this is a vaccine specially designed for Omicron, but I don’t think it is. It is just the original Wuhan vaccine, plus it’s just individual mutations. I haven’t seen such data on how strong the protection rate of the vaccine really is, and what the protection rate is against severe illness and death.”

Generally, vaccines need to go through three phases of clinical trials, and only after obtaining key protection data can they be approved for large-scale use. Experts believe that it is neither logical nor conventional for the CCP to approve this vaccine to be put on the market in such a hurry and incomprehensible.

Lin Xiaoxu: "Then I'm very surprised that the Chinese government approved it so quickly. I don't know if there is any benefit collusion, but logically speaking, such a vaccine, which has not even completed the second phase of clinical trials, should not be approved at all." The approval is something that I think is absurd."

On the same day, the CCP’s official media quoted experts from the National Health and Medical Commission as warning that the ncovid epidemic has not ended in China, and there are still covi-positive cases in many places, causing public concern.

The "Health Times" under the People's Daily reported that recently, netizens from Shanghai, Beijing, Shandong, Anhui and many other places posted on social platforms that they had recently been infected with covid.

It is worth noting that since March, infection waves have reappeared in many places in China. Hospitals around the country are full of patients with fever, and schools in many places are closed. If it has not disappeared, it is possible that the CCP uniformly described it as "influenza A" in order to cover up the epidemic.

A researcher from a western think tank pointed out that Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Russia a few days ago to express his support for Russian President Vladimir Putin, but this visit also highlights the relationship between China and Russia. Not reciprocally, Russia may become more and more dependent on China in the future.

"Agence France-Presse" reported that Liana Fix, a European researcher at the American think tank Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), pointed out:,"Xi Jinping's visit has encouraged Putin, especially after the arrest warrant was issued in The Hague." Headquartered in the Netherlands the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Putin in March.

Fix also said that Xi intends to give Putin more time so that the war can end in Russia's favour. "Of course, Putin would want more, especially the gas deal with China, but this visit of influence is extremely important to him, so he also accepts Russia's increasing dependence on China (CCP)."

Tatiana Jean, director of the Russia Center at the French Institute for International Relations (IFRI), agrees, saying: "In the short term, Putin (power) has been strengthened by this visit, but in the long run Russia will be more dependent on China."

Sam Greene of the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) described the visit as a "gift" from Xi Jinping to Putin, tweeting, "Basically Beijing is giving permission to continue fighting, but it is also Xi Jinping's only gift to Putin."

Jon Alterman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) pointed out: "Although Xi Jinping and Putin have many common interests, it is increasingly clear that this is not a partnership of equals."

Blinken blames the Sino-Russian alliance as a "formal marriage" and Russia becomes a small partner of China

U.S. Secretary of State Blinken said on 22 March that the United States is currently facing two major tests, including the imminent threat posed by Russia's aggression in Ukraine and the long-term challenge posed by China. He reminded that CCP is observing whether the whole world is united against this aggression and learning from it. If Russia is allowed to attack its neighbours without being held accountable, it will open the "Pandora's Box" and trigger global conflicts.

Blinken described the Sino-Russian alliance as a "marriage of convenience" at a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing. He argues that the worldviews of China and Russia are "very different" from those of the United States, which has led to a "formal marriage" alliance between China and Russia. In this relationship, Russia is China's lesser "little partner."

He pointed out that Russia and CCP China are the number one challenge to the United States and are strategic competitors, with Russia posing an "immediate and serious threat" and CCP China a "long-term challenge". He is willing to believe that CCP is currently promoting a "non-free" worldview around the world, intending to replace the international order dominated by the United States. On the other hand, what Russia wants is not international order, but "world chaos".

When talking about the U.S. State Department's fiscal year 2024 budget application, he said that the United States faces long-term challenges from CCP China. In order to strive to win the competition against CCP China and promote Indo-Pacific freedom, the Biden-Harris administration will use the budget for the Indo-Pacific region in the next fiscal year 18% increase.

Over the past year, the Russo-Ukrainian war has triggered reflections from all walks of life, worrying about whether it will affect CCP China's process of unifying Taiwan. Blinken said that if the world allowed Russia to aggress against its neighbours without accountability, it would "open a Pandora's box" for potential future aggressors, leading to a "world of conflict". In other words, the situation in Ukraine will not only affect Ukraine, but "will also have a profound impact on Asia."

Blinken also called on Congress to agree to pay US$150 million (about NT$4.55 billion) in membership fees to rejoin the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), saying that the absence of the United States from UNESCO gave China a chance to formulate artificial intelligence rules.
