The CCP’s overall strategy for Taiwan? Scholar: Or one country, two systems version 3

On Friday (10 March 2023), Wang Huning reiterated the so-called "the party's overall strategy for resolving the Taiwan issue in the new era," reiterating the CCP's version of the "one-China principle" and the "1992 Consensus." Scholar Song Guocheng said in an interview that "one country, two systems" was a political box office poison in Taiwan and failed in Hong Kong. The so-called overall strategy of the CCP is also totalitarian in essence.

Song Guocheng reminded the people of Taiwan from the perspective of vaccination. He speculated that the so-called CCP’s strategy for Taiwan may use relatively flexible and soft packaging to eliminate the sovereignty of the Republic of China and leave some residual autonomy, just like the CCP’s Hong Kong version of the National Security Law. The slogan "patriots governing Hong Kong" proposed the so-called "patriots governing Taiwan" institutional arrangement, and absorbed the government personnel and military forces of the Republic of China (Taiwan) into the organization of the Communist Party of China, and the national army was turned into a communist army. Song Guocheng reminded the people of Taiwan not to be fooled.

More dangerous than Nazi Germany, Pompeo: CCP China threatens the world

The confrontation between the United States and China at all levels continues to heat up. Former US Secretary of State Pompeo (Mike Pompeo) pointed out in an exclusive interview with "Voice of America" that China has the ability to bring problems to the world, and believes that China is a bigger threat to the world than Nazi Germany.

Pompeo pointed out that China is no longer the China of the past, but the China of CCP President Xi Jinping, a huge economy with a population of 1.4 billion, capable of causing problems not only to the United States, but to the whole world. Xi Jinping's "global hegemony" The target is also revealed.

Pompeo was asked: "Based on the behavior of the CCP at home and abroad, do you think that the CCP is heading down the path of Nazi Germany and posing a threat to the world?" Pompeo responded that what happened in Xinjiang looks like the people of Nazi Germany were treated the same, but different in some ways, and in some ways, the CCP is a greater threat to the world.

Pompeo said that the United States used to believe that there were more exchanges with China, and that the Chinese government would start to act in a way that was in line with the interests of the United States but China not only failed to do so today, but also began to fully infiltrate the United States. "Xi Jinping is not only the world's greatest existential threat we face, he is also a threat to the way future generations of Americans live in America."

Regarding the Taiwan issue, Pompeo pointed out that the United States can do many things to deter the CCP from invading Taiwan. He expressed his appreciation for the Biden-Harris administration's arms sales decision. The Biden-Harris administration will send more trainers and improve Taiwan's military level. That is a good thing. Pompeo also mentioned that regional alliances are very important. Xi Jinping sees Australia, Japan, and South Korea working together, and the Philippines is also training and preparing for war with the Taiwan government. This will increase the possibility of Xi Jinping thinking twice before using force against Taiwan. It is a typical model used by the Trump administration to deter opponents, "I hope the Biden administration will eventually do the same."

Rumour has it that the CCP proposed Kamala Harris to visit China when McCarthy visited Taiwan in order to save face

传中共为保面子 曾提议麦卡锡访台时贺锦丽访中

Hong Kong newspaper South China Morning Post exclusively reported on 10 March 2023 that Beijing used the so-called "Track Two" to propose a plan. If the Speaker of the US House of Representatives McCarthy visited Taiwan, CCP hoped that U,S. Vice President Kamala Harris would visit China. The proposal had been passed on to the US side.

McCarthy (Kevin McCarthy) plans to visit Taiwan has attracted much attention. In August 2022, McCarthy's predecessor, Nancy Pelosi, visited Taiwan, embarrassing the Beijing authorities.

The South China Morning Post quoted some anonymous sources as reporting that in recent months, the CCP has used the "Track II" to come up with a set of "workarounds" in order to save face. The so-called "Track Two" means that analysts and retired officials put forward suggestions to avoid backlash from within the CCP or being strongly rejected by the other party.

The "workaround" proposed by China is to compare the story more than 20 years ago. When McCarthy visited Taiwan, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris also visited mainland China. In this way, the CCP, which pays attention to rank and inferiority, can save face and claim to the hardliners that CCP has received a visit from the United States with respect and a better rank.

On 24 March 1997, then U.S. Vice President Al Gore visited China. On 2 April 1997, House Speaker Newt Gingrich made a whirlwind visit to Taiwan.

Ryan Hass, an expert on China issues in the United States, confirmed that he has received proposals from "Chinese friends" several times, that is, if McCarthy visits Taiwan, the United States should follow the "Gingrich model."

Sun Yun, director of the China Initiative at the Stimson Center, a think tank in Washington, said the Chinese proposal had been passed on to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The Chinese seemed very keen on the idea before U.S.-China relations soured further over the spy balloon incident.

However, the report quoted a number of analysts as saying that CCP's proposal may not work, because anti-communist sentiment in the United States is high, and it is unlikely that the Democratic Party will send high-level officials to Beijing as it prepares for the 2024 general election to act as a negative foil for Republican leader McCarthy's visit to Taiwan.

According to the report, the current White House is on the sidelines towards the meeting between the Republic of China (Taiwan) President Tsai Ing-wen and McCarthy, as well as more and more members of Congress visiting Taiwan, because it has failed to prevent Pelosi from visiting Taiwan before, and it is difficult to ask opposition leaders to stol visiting Taiwan.

According to reports, Tsai Ing-wen will soon visit the United States and meet with McCarthy in California. McCarthy said that he met Tsai Ing-wen in the United States not because of the intimidation of the CCP, but because it happened that Tsai Ing-wen was transiting through California, and he did not rule out plans to visit Taiwan in the future.

Xi Jinping's re-election sparks hot debate: Turbulent waves are approaching, and it is difficult for China to turn around

Reporter : Tang Zheng / Editor : Wen Hui / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2023/03/11/a103666478.html

Xi Jinping was re-elected for the third time but he faced internal and external troubles at the beginning of his third term. Some experts pointed out that he will face "turbulent waves" in the next five years in power while some scholars pointed out that Xi Jinping's party controls everything, and it is difficult for China to turn around.

On 10 March 2023, Xi Jinping, the leader of the Communist Party of China, won a third term in a symbolic "vote" held at the National People's Congress, and was re-elected as the president of the country and the chairman of the Central Military Commission. The CCP media claimed that he was "elected unanimously".

Xi Jinping's "unanimous election" has aroused widespread concern in international public opinion. According to the Voice of America report, many Western politicians, commentators and activists said that Xi Jinping's "unanimous election" once again reflected the meaninglessness of the rubber-stamp votes of the National People's Congress of the Communist Party of China.

Jim Sciutto, CNN anchor and chief national security correspondent, tweeted: "Xi Jinping was not 'unanimously elected' as the third president. He is controlled by a elected by an agency that represents a tiny percentage of China's population, after he and his allies abolished a term limit designed to prevent leaders from staying in power for life."

American writer and commentator Gordon G. Chang tweeted that Xi has been pushing China over a cliff, and now he has more power to do so.

After Xi Jinping was elected "without any suspense", public opinion generally believes that during his next five-year term, Xi's road to power will be full of crises.

For now, Xi Jinping has a firm grip on the ruling power, but is still beset by numerous headaches at home and abroad. The first is that China's economic recovery is facing challenges; the second is the imminent population crisis; the third is the threat of the transfer of supply chains to the manufacturing industry; the fourth is the severe international environment.

Xi Jinping once made a report at the opening ceremony of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in October last year, saying that in the next five years, "prepare to withstand the major test of high winds and even turbulent waves." The report mentioned "safety and security" 89 times and "struggle" 17 times.

Public opinion believes that even if Xi Jinping wins a third term, the struggle within the CCP will become more intense.

Hong Kong's "South China Morning Post" recently reported that Ng Muluan, an associate professor at the National University of Singapore, said that Xi has repeatedly warned that China will sail in turbulent waves in the next few years. Sacrificial to "strict discipline".

The biggest challenge facing Xi, he said, remains the tension between China and the United States.

However, Hong Xiangnan, a scholar on China issues living in Japan, told Radio Free Asia overseas that with the current ruling direction of the CCP, it is impossible to go back to the past: "There is no way to turn around. If you turn around, it will take decades. No, I can't go back now."

Current affairs commentator Wang Zhengze said that the election of the CCP National People's Congress shows that when the system is not checked and balanced, it is like a car that has lost its brakes, and the outcome can be imagined. "When a voice emerges and there is no opposing voice, the country will die," he said.

The Epoch Times columnist Wang He told NTDTV that this unsuspecting result was interpreted as a game by the outside world, but in fact there was an undercurrent in the CCP. He said, "What problem does it actually indicate? It's not about Xi Jinping's high authority. (Everyone) regards him as the emperor's new clothes, so that they don't play with you anymore, and they all lie flat. What do you want? So be it."

Wang He said that Xi Jinping's personal power has reached its peak, but his personal authority has reached its trough. From the perspective of the entire history of the CCP, the situation may change suddenly at any time. Xi Jinping has now become a loner and a target of public criticism. It is just that everyone did not find an appropriate breaking point.

The constitution is less than 20,000 words, Xi Jinping took the oath of office according to the "thick book", raising doubts

宪法不到2万字 习近平按“厚书”宣誓就职引质疑

The "Two Sessions" of the CCP are accused of being a power game. The full text of the CCP’s so-called “Constitution” is less than 20,000 words but senior CCP officials took the oath of office with a thick copy of the “Constitution” in the Great Hall of Beijing, causing ridicule from netizens.

At this year's National People's Congress of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping started his third term as "President of the State", and a number of high-level government officials were also "elected".

The Beijing Great Hall once again staged the "swearing-in" ceremony with a "full sense of ceremony". The guards of honor of the three armed forces marched forward and presented a thick "Constitution" to the oath platform. Xi Jinping and the later "elected" Premier Li Qiang of the State Council and others successively took the stage and took the oath on the "Constitution".

However, the "Constitution" that was used to swear an oath has raised questions.

The so-called "Constitution" formulated by the CCP has less than 18,000 words including punctuation marks. There are 32 copies of the "Constitution Affidavit" on the market, but it is only a small book. However, the 16-mo "Constitution" used in the Beijing Great Hall has hundreds of pages by visual inspection. Netizens on Twitter have speculated about what this thick "constitution" is.

Some believe it may have been just a wooden model to support the facade. Some netizens believe that if it is only for the sake of face, a carefully framed and genuine "Constitution" can be used. However, the highest level of the CCP chooses to cheat, which shows that they do not want to be loyal to the real "Constitution" at all.

Some netizens left comments mocking: "Maybe it's not the Constitution, it's Marx's works", "Mao Quotations", "Xinhua Dictionary", "Thick black studies, machinations", "This is the corruption, prostitution, mistresses, and illegitimate children of all party members." The record book, let's see who dares to be disobedient", "It has been revised countless times, this is a bound book of all versions".

Another netizen said, "(If) this is the constitution, what is Qin Gang's little book?"

At the "two sessions" of the CCP this year, CCP Foreign Minister Qin Gang read the CCP's "Constitution" at a press conference, claiming that the Taiwan issue is "China's internal affairs" and so on, which caused ridicule in public opinion.

The CCP's "Constitution" and "two sessions" have always been regarded as international jokes.

For example, the "Constitution of the Communist Party of China" stipulates that when deputies to the National People's Congress change their terms, a new term of deputies must be "elected" two months in advance but for many years, most of the provinces in the country held the "election" of deputies to the National People's Congress just before the Chinese New Year, and it was less than two months before the opening of the new National People's Congress in early March.

According to this, some Japanese media pointed out that this alone shows that the "election" of most NPC deputies is invalid at all, and the NPC meetings over the years are unconstitutional.

Li Qiang "Elected" Premier of the Communist Party of China, Rare 3 votes against and 8 abstentions

李强“当选”中共总理 罕见3票反对 8票弃权

On 11 March 2023, Li Qiang, the number two figure in the Communist Party of China, was "elected" Premier of the State Council, with 3 votes against and 8 abstentions.

In the morning, the National People's Congress of the Communist Party of China held its fourth plenary session. The meeting announced that Li Qiang was "elected" as the Premier of the State Council of the Communist Party of China; Zhang Youxia and He Weidong were appointed as Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission; Li Shangfu, Liu Zhenli, Miao Hua, and Zhang Shengmin were members of the Central Military Commission; The Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme Procuratorate is Ying Yong.

According to the official voting results released by the CCP, although Li Qiang was "elected" Premier of the State Council, 3 people voted against it and 8 people abstained. Among the votes of members of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the Communist Party of China, there were 8 invalid votes.

Li Qiang is accused of being Xi Jinping's confidant, and is regarded by the outside world as an important member of the "Zhijiang New Army" of Xi's family class. He will become a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China at the 20th National Congress in October 2022.

When Li Qiang was the secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, he was criticized by the outside world for his strict city closure and epidemic prevention policies, which even brought Shanghai's society and economy to the brink of collapse.

Li Qiang lacks governance experience at the national level, nor has he served as vice premier of the Chinese Communist Party's State Council. According to public opinion, since Xi Jinping values "loyalty" more than ability and experience, and he emphasizes "party leadership," whether Li Qiang's new leadership of the State Council has the ability and space to implement pragmatic economic policies makes people wonder and question.

Taiwan's Central News Agency reported that Li Qiang may rely more on Xi Jinping's support during his tenure as prime minister in the future, so it is unlikely that he will propose economic policies that are inconsistent with Xi Jinping. Rather than a policy planner, it is afraid that he will be closer to a faithful implementer of Xi Jinping's will.

Joerg Wuttke, chairman of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EU Chamber of Commerce in China), previously told Voice of America that the lack of work experience in the central government does not necessarily make Li Qiang incompetent, but the real test he faces is to take over a three-year-old covid economic "mess" after "dynamic clearing" toss.

Russian female wolf warrior admits to infighting in Kremlin

The Washington think tank "Institute of War" (ISW) released the latest assessment report on the war situation on the 11th, pointing out that the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed on the same day that there are struggles within the Kremlin, and has relinquished centralized control of Russia's information space, a problem that Russian President Vladimir Putin clearly cannot easily resolve.

The ISW report mentions that on 11 March, Kremlin journalists and academics held a forum in Moscow on the topic of "Practical and Technical Dimensions of Information and Cognitive Warfare in Modern Realities." During a panel discussion, Zakharova admitted that due to infighting among the Kremlin's "elites", the Kremlin could not replicate the Stalinist approach of creating a modern equivalent of the Soviet intelligence service to centralize control over Russia internal information.

The report pointed out that Zakharova's statement is noteworthy and confirms several long-standing ISW assessments about the Kremlin regime: first, there is infighting in the Kremlin among key members of Putin's inner circle; Putin has largely given up on firmly controlling Russia's information space; third, Putin is clearly unable to take decisive actions to regain control of Russia's information space.

ISW pointed out that it is not clear why the experienced Zakharova spokesperson would publicly acknowledge these problems in public. Zakharova's first direct discussion of these issues may be an attempt to assuage the expectations of Russian nationalist "milbloggers" who have high hopes for the Kremlin's ability to create a unified narrative, and even a unified policy .
