After Liaoning, Zhejiang, Hainan, Hebei and other places in the People's Republic of China issued documents to "stop" parent homework, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region also issued a document prohibiting parents from correcting homework on their behalf, and prohibiting teachers from using WeChat and QQ groups Homework.

It is understood that the Education Department of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region recently issued the "Notice on Strengthening the Management of Compulsory Education Schools" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice"), listing nine measures to further standardize the management of compulsory education schools during the pandemic.

The "Notice" requires all compulsory education schools to strictly control the total amount of homework and the time to do homework. Among them, the first and second grades of elementary school do not leave written homework, and the total time for completing written homework in other grades is no more than 1 hour per day. Junior high school students are controlled within 2 hours of homework per day.

At the same time, teachers are strictly prohibited from using WeChat and QQ groups to assign homework. Parents must not be required to correct teacher assignments or correct children’s homework errors. Parents must not be required to download and print homework via the Internet.

The "Notice" also requires schools to strengthen home-school cooperation to avoid the phenomenon of "reducing burdens within schools and increasing burdens outside schools" to ensure students' sleep. All localities must strictly control the entry of all kinds of social affairs into campuses, reduce the burden of supervision, inspection, evaluation, and selection of teachers from primary and secondary schools, and ensure that teachers normally carry out education and teaching and correct homework time.

It is worth mentioning that the "Notice" requires the education supervision department to adjust and improve the supervision and evaluation indicators of the school's standardized schooling behavior, and incorporate the school's work quality and work burden into the supervision content. Schools with many problems in homework management and poor supervision and teachers who violate regulations and require parents to correct homework on their behalf should be dealt with seriously and be reported to accountability.
