On the 17th, a solemn ceremony titled "Mourning Menglong's Soul Receiving Ceremony" was held at the Crescent Moon Hall in Banqiao, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The ceremony was hosted by Sun Derong, a veteran Taiwanese artist manager who previously managed Chinese actor Yu Menglong. Hundreds of fans spontaneously attended the ceremony, and the online livestream attracted over 20,000 viewers from China.

Sun Derong remained motionless throughout the five-and-a-half-hour ceremony, kneeling in deep sorrow as he prayed to the heavens for the soul of his beloved disciple. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of fish-shaped balloons symbolizing "bringing Yu home." The atmosphere at the venue was warm and solemn, and Yu Menglong's portrait, still displaying his warm, jade-like smile, moved many fans to tears.

In the comment section of the livestream, mainland Chinese netizens wrote in simplified Chinese: "Thank you to the loving and righteous people of Taiwan. It's truly sad that we in mainland China can't bid him a dignified farewell right now." "The truth has yet to be revealed, justice has yet to come, and we must continue to fight."

These messages, on the other side of the "Great Firewall," became the most sincere footnotes to the mainland Chinese people's pursuit of freedom.

The following day, on the 18th, another bright scene unfolded in Liberty Square at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taipei. Over 5,000 Falun Gong practitioners from Taiwan, the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and other places formed a giant "Falun Gong" symbol and the words "Falun Gong Always Turns." The magnificent scene conveyed the power of faith in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance."

Professor Xiao Songshan, Chairman of the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association, stated at the event that since the CCP launched its crackdown in 1999, Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China have suffered torture and imprisonment, and have even become the primary victims of forced organ harvesting. The CCP's persecution continues unabated and has even extended overseas, silencing voices through social media campaigns and transnational harassment. Xiao Songshan emphasized that the passage of legislation supporting Falun Gong and opposing organ harvesting in Taiwan and many European and American countries symbolizes an awakening of justice. He called on Taiwanese society to cherish its freedom and enact relevant laws to curb the CCP's infiltration.

This year's zigzag pattern exceeded 66 meters in diameter. The golden characters "Falun Dafa Chang Zhuan" (Falun Gong Always Turns) stood 17 meters high and 21 meters wide, symbolizing Falun Gong's spread from Changchun, China, to over 110 countries and regions worldwide. Participants came from all over the world, including practitioners from Japan, South Korea, the United States, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.

Ms. Xue from Japan said, "It is a blessing to be able to practice freely in Taiwan." She began practicing in Heilongjiang and was later forced into exile due to CCP persecution. "Seeing over 5,000 people forming the Falun Dafa pattern, I felt nothing but gratitude."

Ms. Pei from South Korea said, "To be able to endure what is unbearable and to be able to act is the strength of practitioners."

Aboluowang commentator Wang Duran stated that on this side of the strait, there are cries and wall-climbing, while on the other side, there is faith and sunshine. Both are commemorations, both are the call of the soul, but the destinies on both sides are vastly different.

Yu Menglong's soul may be watching as well. Unable to receive a dignified farewell in his homeland, he found peace across the sea in free Taiwan. Meanwhile, another group of practitioners, with peace, patience, and kindness, showed the world that freedom of belief and human dignity are forces that no dictatorship can destroy.

This is a stark contrast between the two systems and two souls on both sides of the Taiwan Strait: under dictatorship, souls are imprisoned behind walls; in democracy, faith and love continue to radiate light.
