Cases with mild or asymptomatic infections on SHN should watch out for any one of the 8 warning symptoms

 In Taiwan, most covid patients with mild or asymptomatic infections are quarantined at home. On 4 June 2021, Taiwan has accumulated more than 10,000 cases and many of the covid cases are mild or asymptomatic infections. Thus the command centre on 4 June announced the "Warning Symptom Assessment and Precautions During Home Care" and put forward 8 major warning symptoms. As long as they meet any of them, they should immediately call 119, the Department of Health or 1922 for assistance. 

Since most infected patients have mild symptoms, they can recover on their own after recuperation, leaving medical resources for severe cases. Therefore, stay at home. Do not leave home. Observe for abnormal body conditions at any time. 

The command centre's  "Warning Symptom Assessment and Precautions during Home Care of Confirmed Cases" sorts out 8 major symptoms so that those diagnosed at home can be assessed daily: 

1. In the absence of fever (body temperature <38°C), the heartbeat is greater than 100 beats per minute 

2. Asthma or breathing difficulties 

3. Persistent chest pain, chest tightness

4. Unconsciousness 

5. Blue skin, lips, or nail bed 

6. Unable to eat, drink or take medicine 

7. No urine or significant decrease in urine output in the past 24 hours, or children who are unable to drink due to their body condition, and signs of dehydration such as sunken orbits, no tears, and dry mouth and tongue occur. 

8. Hypotension (systolic blood pressure is less than 90 mmHg)

The command center urges people who are diagnosed and display any of the above 8 warning symptoms during the home isolation period to call 119, the Health Bureau or 1922 immediately. 

Those who are diagnosed can use live video conference communication to seek diagnosis and treatment, and use antipyretic analgesia, antihistamine, gastrointestinal or cough medicines according to the doctor's instructions.
