Singapore Airlines and Scoot invite members to offset carbon emissions with Krisflyer miles
According to the latest press releases of Singapore Airlines and Scoot received on 25 June 2021, from the fourth quarter of 2021, both airlines invite Krisflyer members to offset carbon emissions with their Krisflyer miles when they fly and after they fly. The public meanwhile have to factor in the cost of carbon emissions during ticketing.
For example, Singapore Airlines' press release states, "If you are flying with Singapore Airlines or Scoot, you can offset your carbon emissions via our dedicated microsites at any time, before or after your flight. The Singapore Airlines Group will match the amount of emissions you have offset for a period of six months from our launch date, effectively doubling the positive impact from your action as you fly carbon neutral."
The press release also states travelers using Krisflyer miles and members of the traveling public offsetting carbon emissions will contribute towards carbon offset projects, "Your contributions will go toward a portfolio of carbon offset projects, which brings about environmental and social benefits to communities in Asia."
The projects include conserving the natural heritage of orangutans in Indonesia, building more solar panels in India, supporting the development of local economies in India and developing cleaner cooking in Nepal.
It appears that the airlines are pushing the costs of carbon emissions separately to the traveling public.

Krisflyer members unlikely to offset carbon emissions with miles, refrain from flying
This act of offsetting carbon emissions however and will not induce Singaporeans to fly since the costs that go to offset the carbon emissions can burn a big hole in one's pocket. For example, be prepared to pay more than S$15 for carbon emissions after buying a return ticket of Scoot to Hangzhou, for example. Members of Krisflyer can remove the option during ticketing.

Besides, the covid pandemic has not ended and various anti-epidemic measures such as travel applications for official approvals, quarantine, PCR testing, antigen rapid testing, SHN and vaccinations remain in place. Moreover, nobody wants to pay additional for anything that they do not want to be incurred such as carbon emissions.
SARS-CoV-2 (covi, novel coronavirus, CCP virus) has continued to mutate since the Wuhan outbreak. Humans face more living dangers than before since the Chinese Communist Party is not cooperating with the world in uncovering the covi origin, thus compromising on and risking the safety of overseas travel even if vaccination passports are used.
Carbon emissions are the responsibility of airlines, not passengers
Carbon emissions are by aircraft and the aircraft are owned by the airlines. Airlines need to be responsible for carbon emissions, not the passengers. Investing in aircraft that are enviroment-friendly and cost-saving. With the availability of Internet, people are able to see what happens in the other side of the world without leaving home by touch of a button. Therefore, reducing flight frequencies, air ticket prices, deploying safe distancing measures and launching more new turnaround routes without landing are the ways to go.

Come up with ways that airlines can profit from the pandemic
Singapore Airlines and Scoot should engage in more non-passenger flight businesses by means of more cargo flights. Operating flight menu dining businesses on the ground, anti-epidemic paraphernalia stores (selling PPEs, masks, oximeters, antigen rapid testing kits, saliva testing kits), civil aviation paraphernalia stores, inflight duty free stores, virtual flight lounges, and operating covid patient isolation sites to take care of Changi Airport's passengers are other possible ways to reduce carbon emissions and earn money at the same time.

Virtual flights, domestic travel the new normal
For customers to be friendly to the environment and their pockets, the solution is to fly virtual. Go aircraft-spotting at places where one can see aircraft easily. View your country in different ways and engage in more domestic travel activities at free convenient time with safe distancing measure in place.

The founder of UBI will release covi vaccine in July for domestic use
The driving force behind UBI vaccine is the Taiwanese female scientist, UBI chairman and founder Wang Changyi.
Wang Changyi graduated from the Department of Chemistry at National Taiwan University and later went to the United States to obtain a Ph.D. in immunology and biochemistry. She even received a research project award of more than 20 million US dollars from the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health. In 1998, at the invitation of the government, as the founder of United Biomedical Corporation of the United States, UBI, a joint venture with the Taiwan government, cut United Pharma into a subsidiary in 2014.
On 27 June, the EUA for the second phase of "unblinding" will be announced at 6 pm and it is hoped vaccination supplies will be approved to start in mid-July. MVC Vaccine has already applied for emergency authorization after the second phase of "unblinding" on 10 June, and two domestic vaccines are expected to go on the market as soon as possible to solve the urgent need of vaccine shortage in Taiwan.

UB-612 has good safety, tolerance and immune response
The covi vaccine developed by the domestic vaccine UBI announced today the Phase II clinical analysis report. UBI held a press conference. UBI said that the Phase II clinical data was in line with expectations and had good safety, tolerance and immune response. The clinical data will be consolidated and sent to the Food and Drug Administration for emergency use authorization (EUA) in the near future.
Fan Yingyun, deputy general manager and spokesperson of UBI, pointed out that its covi vaccine UB-612, regardless of age group, after 2 doses, the seroconversion rate is as high as 95.65%, and the neutralizing antibody titer In line with expectations, there were no serious adverse reactions.
Fan Yingyun states that 28 days after the second dose was administered, the seroconversion rate of the adult group (19 to 64 years old) was 95.65%, and that of over 65 years old was 88.57%. The neutralizing antibody titer was 102.3, in line with EUA standards.
In addition, in the part of local adverse reactions, 64.59% of the injection site pain in the vaccine group, 34.06% swelling, and systemic adverse reactions. In the vaccine group, only 1.93% had fever, fatigue and muscle pain accounted for more than 30%, headache rate was 17.01%, and 1 adult had diarrhea.
Wang Changyi, founder of UBI, recently estimated that a crude estimate of vaccine protection is expected to reach around 90%.

UBI: Test shows that UB-612 can maintain protection against Covi72
Reporter : Ye Weichen / Translation : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA
Peng Wenjun emphasizes that the characteristics of vaccines are safety, B cell and T cell immunity at the same time, immune memory and high immunity, still effective against mutant strains, and easy mass production and delivery.
In addition, the Delta variant currently invades the world communities. Peng Wenjun said that because the sequence is not easy to change the protein, it will not affect the effectiveness of this vaccine. The immune response can respond to the mutant strain and have been tested against different mutant strains, including neutralizing antibodies such as the United Kingdom and California variants. The situation is flat, but P.1 and B.1.351 are slightly down but still have protective power. As for Delta, which is of global concern, it can still be maintained. If a third dose is added, the protective power against the South African strain can be improved.
Peng Wenjun emphasizes that compared with patients who have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 during the recovery period, the number of antibodies vaccinated with UB-612 is still higher, and the protection power is estimated to be 80 to 90%.

The protective rate of 1 dose of Pfizer-BioNTech against Covi72 is 33%
Pingtung has already seen the Covi72 cluster and it is feared it would become the mainstream virus strain in the Taiwanese community! Because studies have shown that this variant strain is more infectious, one infected person may even spread to 6 to 7 people, and even "immune escape" conditions. At the same time, the effectiveness of the vaccine has also deteriorated.
Pediatric emergency physician Wu Changteng said according to international studies, after two doses of AZ vaccine, the efficacy is about 60%. If only one dose of Pfizer-BioNTech has been vaccinated, the protective effect is only 33%.
Get vaccinated as soon as possible, or even finish the 2 doses as soon as possible. In addition, wear a mask, wash hands frequently, maintain safe distancing, and do not assemble. In this wave of covid, friends under 18 years of age who have not been vaccinated will face the greatest risk.

Key mutations in Covi72 enable the virus to spread rapidly
Key mutations in the Delta mutant variant (Covi72), such as E484Q, L452R and P614R, make it easier for the spike protein in the virus to attach to the ACE-2 receptor, which means that it can infect and replicate faster, and even escape more effectively. The human body's natural immunity to covid causes the virus to spread rapidly in the community.
Comparisons with other mutant virus strains it is found that the R0 value of the original SARS-CoV-2 is 2.4-2.6, while the AlphaR0 value of Covi17 is 3.6-4.2, and the R0 value of Covi72 is as high as 5.6-6.7, which means a person infected with the original strain of SARS-CoV-2 can infect nearly 2 people, a person with Covi17 can infect 4 people, and a Delta variant can infect nearly 6 to 7 people. "When the R0 value is 2.5, the herd immunity threshold is 60%, but the R0 value is 6, and the herd immunity threshold is 83%." Delta is a powerful opponent.

The protective rate of 2 doses of AZ vaccine against Covi72 is 60%
People vaccinated with AZ vaccine had a significant reduction in serum neutralization titers against Covi72. In addition, analysis in the United Kingdom found that those who received two full doses of Pfizer vaccine had 88% protection against the Delta variant virus, but if there was only one dose of the vaccine, the protection would drop from 50% to only 33%. As for the two doses of AZ vaccine, the effectiveness of preventing the symptoms of Delta infection is about 60%.

Covi variant highly contagious. Zhong Nanshan: Need to re-define the meaning of close contacts
Delta variant (Covi72) has invaded the world's communities. In Taiwan, the grandparent and grandson who lived in the home quarantine of Pingtung returned to Taiwan from Peru on 6 June. Unexpectedly, they infected their neighbours because of this.
A small number of 97 patients that tested positive for the coronavirus reported a continual loss of taste and smell, known as anosmia, for about a year, The Hill reported Friday.
While the study, published Thursday by the JAMA Network, found the majority of patients recovered their taste and smell within a few months, some still lacked the sensations for much longer.
"Persistent COVID-19–related anosmia has an excellent prognosis with nearly complete recovery at 1 year," the authors concluded in the study. "As clinicians manage an increasing number of people with post-COVID syndrome, data on long-term outcomes are needed for informed prognostication and counseling."
According to the study, 97 people consisting of 67 women and 30 men with an average age of almost 39, all reported the loss for more than seven days during their recovery from the virus.
About half of the group took part in subjective testing, 52.6%, and 47.4% underwent objective testing alone, according to the study.
After four months, 45.1% reported full recovery of smell and taste, and another 52.9% reported a partial recovery of olfactory function.
Almost 16% of the group (eight patients) reported persistent loss of function, the study said.
Of those eight patients, six reported turning back to normal function by the eighth month, with the last two remained experiencing anosmia with "persistent abnormalities."
Loss of taste and smell were considered bellwether symptoms of the infection during the pandemic.
The study's authors said, while the long-term prognosis of those recovering from COVID-19 is good for olfactory function to return after a year, more study needs to be done on the subject and other potential long-term effects of the virus.
The Fire Fauci Act was introduced by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who told Newsmax she now has 13 Republicans signing on to the bill after Fauci's emails were released by a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.
"Republicans are realizing this is a very important issue to every single American," Greene told Tuesday's "Stinchfield." "You see, it's not about Republicans and Democrats, it's about the American people and it's also about the entire world.
"Dr. Anthony Fauci has lied, and he has lied over and over again, and now that his emails have come out, people have seen the truth."
Fauci "lied" to former President Donald Trump, overstating the potential death totals in the United States as a way of forcing policy to shut down the economy and shelter Americans as the global coronavirus pandemic unfolded.
Also, as Greene told host Grant Stinchfield, the origins of COVID-19 might even have been funded by Fauci's sub-grant to the EcoHealth Alliance to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
"Through grants and a third party he was funding the Wuhan lab, which funding the gain of function research, which is some kind of Dr. Frankenstein experiment," she told Stinchfield.
Greene also rebuked Democrats, and media, for pushing Fauci's recommendations.
"They have found something that works on the American people, and that's fear," she added.
"The media is complicit in fear mongering."
Noting a new form of discrimination forming in the U.S., Greene added she is also going to introduce a bill to "allow people to sue for discrimination" for not being vaccinated or wearing a mask.

Trump: Biden Admin. "Complete, Total Catastrophe"
Image : Video Screenshot
President Donald Trump kicked off his 2022 campaign rally circuit Saturday night, rebuking the "complete and total catastrophe" of the Biden administration.
"Joe Biden is destroying our nation right before our very own eyes," Trump told a Wellington, Ohio, campaign rally broadcast on Newsmax, the first of its kind since he left office in January.
"After just five months the Biden administration is already a complete and total catastrophe. I told you. Crime is surging. Murders are soaring. Police departments are being gutted. Illegal aliens are overrunning their borders. Nobody's ever seen anything like it.
"Our poor borders. They was so perfect. They were so good. Drug cartels and human traffickers are back in business like they've never been before. They're doing numbers that they've never even thought possible. Just a few short months ago, drugs were way down, human trafficking was way down. It was all way down."
Trump was appearing to campaign for GOP primary candidate Max Miller, who will oppose anti-Trump Rep. Anthony Gonzalez, R-Ohio, running for reelection in Ohio's 16th congressional district.
"We're going to take back the House," Trump added. "We're going to take back the Senate, and we will take back America."
The crowd stopped his comments about 10 minutes in with a chant, "four more years."
"So you have to deliver massive majorities for Republicans in Congress next year – have to do it," Trump continued. "Right here in Ohio's 16th congressional district you have the opportunity to elect an incredible patriot to Congress, who I know very well.
"He grew up in this area, believe it or not; he's not a carpetbagger, like so many lot of them. They say, 'Sir, I'm running for Congress, so I say, 'Good, how long have you lived there?'
"'Well, actually, I moved there last week. I saw an opening.'
"Max Miller. You know, Max. He loves our country. He loves the people of Ohio. And Max was a trusted aide of mine in the White House. We had great people working for me. We had some real losers, too, by the way."
Miller's GOP primary opponent, Gonzalez, is a former NFL wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts, and was rejected by Trump.
"Max's opponent is a guy named Anthony Gonzalez, bad news," Trump said. "He's a grandstanding, RINO [Republican in Name Only], not respected in D.C, who voted for the unhinged, unconstitutional illegal impeachment, which hunt – the witch hunt."
"He's a sellout," Trump continued. "He's a fake Republican and a disgrace to your state. I will tell you that, and he's not the candidate that you want representing the Republican Party. He's the candidate of [Wyoming GOP Rep.] Liz Cheney. That's another beauty."
Trump rebuked Biden's dismantling his foreign policy progress, particularly with the attempts to reenter the Iran nuclear deal.
"Joe Biden is squandering all of this hard-earned respect that we have – or had – bowing down to America's enemies and embarrassing our country on the world stage," Trump said. "You saw that, it was an embarrassment."
Trump called out Democrats in key battleground states for changing election processes without the constitutional authority of state legislatures.
"They used COVID in order to cheat," Trump said. "They used COVID in order to rig the election and in order to steal the election, they used COVID. That's as simple as it get.
"With the help of everyone here tonight and patriots all across the country, we will do all that we are supposed to be doing and much more when we win giant Republican majorities next year."
The TRUE racists in America are on the Left. If you give them a chance, they will prove it without fail. Their lack of self-awareness is so high that they do not even REALIZE how racist they sound. Who is one of the biggest offenders?
While talking to a crowd in North Carolina, Biden addressed why certain minority communities are skeptical of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Remarking on why Black Americans historically have been reluctant get vaccinated by citing past racist medical treatment, he said, “There’s a reason why it was harder to get African Americans – initially – to get vaccinated, because they’re used to being experimented on. Tuskegee airmen and others, people have long memories.”
He’s right…
This did happen—and in certain instances it was directed by Margaret Sanger, the creator of Planned Parenthood—so Biden wasn’t wrong on this…
But then he let his racism shine through when he talked about the Hispanic community.
Bigotty Joe said, “It’s awful hard as well to get Latinx vaccinated. Why? They’re worried they’ll be vaccinated and deported.”
Wow…
So let’s think about that for a second. Biden thinks that American citizens with Latin heritage are all afraid of getting deported?!
Does he think they’re all illegal immigrants?
Does he believe that, if you’re Latino (because the term “Latinx” is almost racist in itself. Talk to any Latino, and they’ll tell you how degrading the term is), you won’t get vaccinated because you’re afraid of getting deported?
Joe Biden is a racist in short.
