The rumour that Dong Jingwei, deputy minister of the State Security Department of the Communist Party of China, fled the United States continues to ferment. News sources continue to testify that this matter is true, and at the same time, both Chinese and American officials seem to be low-key refuting the rumors. The Chinese side just released photos of Dong Jingwei attending the meeting in Beijing, but Solomon Yue (Yu Huaisong), a member of the U.S. Republican National Committee, later stated that Dong Jingwei was still in the United States and the Chinese shared PS photos to deceive people.

On 24 June, Yu Huaisong, a senior member of the U.S. Republican National Committee, tweeted that Dong Jingwei is still under the protection of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and the CCP released a modified fake photo. He also PS made the head of Dong Jingwei in the Chinese photo as himself, and sarcastically said, "Now I am told that I am also there."

On 23 June, the official website of the Ministry of Public Security of the Communist Party of China reported that the Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi attended the 16th meeting of the Secretary of the Security Council of the SCO Member States on the same day, accompanied by four officials including Dong Jingwei. The report also published photos of the five officials sitting together.

However, Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily and CCTV, the three major party media reports, only claimed that Zhao Kezhi attended the meeting by video, and did not mention Dong Jingwei. The CCTV video report showed a scene similar to the photo of the Ministry of Public Security, which included a two-second shot of Dong Jingwei.

However, the photos of the Ministry of Public Security and CCTV footage are suspected of being suspicious.

Earlier, Yu Huaisong made a bet on Twitter with a Hong Kong "patriotic netizen" that he used his political life to bet that Dong Jingwei's defection was true.

On 22 June, Yu Huaisong said in an interview with the media person Xiao Ming (video link) that he could not reveal the specific identity of his source, but he must be a high-level US official, so he believed in the truth of Dong Jingwei’s escape to the United States.

Yu Huaisong also said that the senior official told him that Dong Jingwei had been under the protection of the US DIA in February this year. In addition to him, at about a similar time, another CCP official defected to DIA. DIA found that the information provided by the two of them can confirm each other.

The source also said that after accepting Dong Jingwei's submission, DIA has been collating and verifying the information provided by him, and did not disclose it until recently after it took control of all the information. Therefore, the White House and the State Department had no knowledge of this before. This led to the US Secretary of State Blinken's answer at the US-China Diplomatic Summit in Alaska in March this year when China asked for Dong Jingwei.

In addition, DIA did not leak the information prematurely, and other US intelligence agencies have been severely infiltrated by Chinese spies.

The source said that the intelligence provided by Dong Jingwei, including the WIV and many other virus research institutions, are cooperating with the Chinese military to develop biological and chemical weapons, and COVID-19 is directly related to this. In addition, Dong Jingwei also provided intelligence on the CCP's espionage activities in the United States. He told DIA that most of the Chinese students studying in the United States have tasks.

The news also stated that DIA intends to disclose Dong Jingwei's information step by step, and the more it goes afterwards, the more vigorous, until it finally reaches a climax. The purpose of this is to keep this news hot, so as not to disappear due to the repression of the American media and political repression.

Earlier, the American right-wing media RedState quoted news as saying that some of Dong Jingwei's intelligence is not good for the current US government, so the mainstream left-wing media in the United States did not report it.

Yu Huaisong told Xiao Ming that the source of RedState's report was DIA.

The report of  RedState on 17 June is very similar to Yu Huaisong's account to Xiao Ming (Simone Gao).

At present, in addition to China’s efforts to dispel rumors about Dong Jingwei’s defection, the US website SpyTalk, which reported the incident earlier, also published an article recently that an anonymous US federal official contacted them and said the report was inaccurate.

While the Communist Party of China continued to refute rumors, its highest authorities publicly took the lead in swearing that they would "never rebel against the party." Public opinion believes that this may prove from the side that high-ranking CCP officials have fled and the authorities deliberately threatened them.

In addition, as the rumours of Dong Jingwei's  defection were fermenting, it was reported that Qin Gang, the Vice Foreign Minister of the Communist Party of China, was about to succeed the Chinese Communist Party's ambassador to the United States, Cui Tiankai. RedState reported that Qin Gang was a close friend of Xi Jinping and was sent to the United States at this time. The purpose may be to prevent the US from investigating the intelligence provided by Dong Jingwei.

Cai Xia, a former professor at the Central Party School of the Communist Party of China who lives in the United States, told Radio Free Asia that her friends in China all said to her, "The rain is coming." She thinks the situation in China is likely to get out of control.

US expert on China issues Gordon Chang said in an interview with US media Newsmax that if Dong Jingwei's escape to the United States is true, China may "change the sky overnight."
