Fauci: COVID-19 is "small enough to pass through the material" of face masks

Reporter : Andrew White

In a series of damning emails obtained by Judicial Watch, Dr. Anthony Fauci said that the “typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective” in stopping COVID-19, adding that the virus SARS-CoV-2 is “small enough to pass through the material.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci, America’s COVID-19 Pandemic sweetheart, whose advice led to mass unemployment stemming from nationwide lockdown measures and mandatory mask mandates, pointed out the ineffectiveness of mask-wearing in newly released emails obtained by Judicial Watch.

“Masks are really effective for infected people to prevent them from spreading infection to people who are not infected rather than protecting uninfected people from acquiring infection,” Fauci wrote to Sylvia Burwell, American University’s 15th president who served 11 years at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, including roles as the chief operating officer and president of the Global Development Program, emphasis added by National File. “The typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out virus, which is small enough to pass through the material,” Fauci continued.

“It might, however, provide some slight benefit in keep out gross droplets if someone coughs or sneezes on you. I do not recommend that you wear a mask, particularly since you are going to a very low risk location. Your instincts are correct, money is best spent on medical countermeasures such as diagnostics and vaccines,” wrote Fauci, who in a separate email to Raymond N. DuBois, would go on to recommend that mask wearing remain “voluntary” at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

“Currently, we have a “voluntary” mask wearing policy for the health system and our main University Hospital,” wrote DuBois. “Based on your recent comments about asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic carriers of COVID-19, do you agree that keeping this voluntary is the correct approach?”

“Thank you for your note,” Fauci replied. “I would keep the policy “voluntary” but I would “encourage” employees to wear them.”

As a result of the newly released emails, Fauci’s flip-flop on the necessity of wearing masks to protect individuals from covid is revealed more than ever before. In an October 2020 interview with JAMA Network, Fauci criticized states for not enforcing mandatory mask mandates, despite previously saying that the virus is small enough to pass through typical mask material.

“If you don’t want to shut down, at least do the fundamental basic things, which are really the flagship of which, is wearing a mask. And that’s the reason why we’ve gotta do, we can’t have this very inconsistent wearing that you see, where you see some states that absolutely refuse to wear a mask,” said Fauci.

“That’s the thing we have to shake each other by the collar and say ‘take a look at what’s going on, look at the data.’ It speaks for itself. We’re in a very difficult situation, and countries that have done it the other way have done it and been successful. So let’s put aside these extraordinary excuses for not doing it, when we’re dealing with a situation that’s not trivial.”

Using Fauci’s own logic, it would seem unclear how forcing healthy individuals to wear a mask “might” provide them with protection from the China Virus, given that “America’s Doctor” simultaneously claimed that the virus is small enough to get through the masks in his email correspondence.

It begs the question of why so many states in the US rigorously enforced mask-wearing with an iron fist, all while shaming anti-maskers for being “anti-science” for over a year.

Fauci said COVID-19 would go away with social distancing, not vaccines, in March 2020 email

Reporter : Tom Pappert

In an email written in March of 2020 that was unearthed by Judicial Watch, Anthony Fauci claimed that the COVID-19 pandemic would subside on its own with simple social distancing, and that a vaccine would not be required for the disease.

As the COVID-19 virus spread across the planet, Anthony Fauci was not concerned with a vaccine, and was instead sending emails suggesting that social distancing would be enough to prevent the disease from spreading. He also urged state and local governments to take a leading role in the response to the pandemic, rather than the federal government.

“Social distancing is not really geared to wait for a vaccine. The major point is to prevent easy spread of infections in schools (closing them), crowded events such as theaters, stadiums (cancel events), work places (do teleworking where possible). States and localities make these decisions,” Fauci explained. “The goal of social distancing is to prevent a single person who is infected to readily spread to several others, which is facilitated by close contact in crowds.”

Fauci then declared that COVID-19 would pass without the need for a vaccine. “Close proximity of people will keep the R0 higher than 1 and even as high as 2 to 3,” wrote Fauci on March 2, 2020. “If we can get the R0 to less than 1, the epidemic will gradually decline on its own without a vaccine.”

In an email from earlier in 2020, Fauci told a former employee of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation that face masks would be nearly useless to prevent the spread of COVID-19, as the virus particles were small enough to pass through the fabric of face masks.

The new trove of emails were obtained by Judicial Watch and reveal Fauci’s seemingly haphazard response to his colleagues and the constant reversals of his COVID-19 guidance.

DISGUSTING: Emails reveal 'Dr. Fauci's March Madness' Disease Bracket

As revealed in the newly released earth-shattering emails obtained by Judicial Watch, Dr. Anthony Fauci and John T. Brooks appear to have participated in a disturbing “March Madness” disease bracket in March 2020.

“Dr. Fauci’s March Madness Bracketology Picks” are divided into four main sections, appearing to be the East, West, South, and Midwest areas of the United States. Diseases listed on the bracket include Coronavirus, SARS, MERS, Zika, West Nile, Rabies, Polio, among others. It appears that Coronavirus won the competition and was declared “CHAMPION.” Meanwhile, a circled signature in the center of the bracket reads “Tony F.”

The email was sent to Fauci by the CDC‘s John T. Brooks, a “medical epidemiologist with the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention, National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention.”

“Cheers,” wrote Brooks. “Apologies for errors in my messages that may be due to my need to dictate.”

In a separate email exchange with Sylvia Burwell, who served 11 years at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Fauci said that the “typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective” in stopping COVID-19, adding that the virus is “small enough to pass through the material,” as National File reported.

National File senior reporter Patrick Howley, who first broke the story exposing Fauci’s funding of “gain of function” research at the Wuhan lab in China, noted that “Fauci initially told people not to wear masks before changing his stance on the issue, and American children have been wearing the slave masks in large part due to Fauci’s advice. We now know that Fauci does not actually believe in the merit of masks, and he was willing to tell a well-connected former Obama administration apparatchik one thing while later telling America the exact opposite.”

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg sent an email to Fauci on March 17, 2020, thanking him for his “leadership” during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, and offering to use Facebook as a platform to share Fauci’s messages about COVID-19. Fauci saw the value in Zuckerberg’s offer, noting that Facebook would spread Fauci’s message more effectively than television, as National File reported.

In a separate instance reporter Donald McNeil sent an email to Fauci referring to Americans as “selfish pigs” for their behavior during the early stages of the pandemic, and the Chinese as “heroic” – citing a well-known state propaganda outlet for the Chinese Communist Party, which Fauci appeared to have concurred, as National File reported.
