Updates: Symptoms of Covi72 infection
The proportion of headaches is as high as 2/3 for people younger than 40 years old, and 1/2 of people over 40 years old have headaches.
Since infection with Delta seldom has fever, the airport’s fever screening station may be useless for detecting Covi72. When inquiring about TOCC (travel history, occupation, contact history, group situation), the airport epidemic prevention personnel should compare the two common symptoms of Covi72 such as sore throat and runny nose and take them into consideration.

4 kinds of people need to do genetic sequencing to prevent Covi72 infection
If you want to prevent Delta from invading, gene sequencing is very important. Chen Xiuxi believes that four types of people should be genetically sequenced.
First, those who have been vaccinated but infected must rely on genetic sequencing to distinguish the causes of the inability to prevent the infection after the vaccine.
Second, those who have been diagnosed and have second-degree infections can be identified through gene sequential track to determine whether there are mutant strains.
Third, in the areas where clusters occur, such as Beinong and Pingtung, if there are people who screen positive quickly, gene sequencing can be done to track down whether there are mutant strains as soon as possible.
Due to the large burden of inspections, Chen Xiuxi suggested that for every 5 imported cases, one should be selected for genetic sequencing to prevent Delta invasion.

U Zaw Htay served as the director-general for the Office of State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and spokesman for the President’s Office. The former military officer also served as spokesman for the U Thein Sein government.
On 1 February, government residences in Naypyitaw and the states and regions were surrounded by military vehicles and the majority of senior National League for Democracy figures and senior civil servants were detained.
Military vehicles were reported outside U Zaw Htay’s house in Naypyitaw and he has not been seen since. However, some reports emerged he was asked to keep his position following the coup but he resigned after one day.
A military source, who requested anonymity, said he was released around 11 days ago from military custody and discharged from his position.
“It seemed he was told to stay out of view and keep quiet,” the source added.

Vaccinated Rakhine residents re-infected on Myanmar-Bangladesh border
Residents in Maungdaw, a border town with Bangladesh in Rakhine State, are worried about a serious coronavirus outbreak in the town after three people who had received two covi jab cases tested positive.
Two Maungdaw District General Administration Department (GAD) employees and a female resident tested positive for coronavirus, said medical superintendent of Maungdaw District Hospital Dr. Nu Cathie San.
“There have been seven covid patients in Maungdaw. The two GAD staff and a female patient received both vaccine jabs. It is possible to be infected with coronavirus after receiving both jabs. There is no 100-percent guarantee. The most important thing is to follow the Ministry of Health and Sports guidelines,” said the medical superintendent.
All three are receiving treatment at Maungdaw Hospital and those who came into contact with them have been placed under quarantine.
Former Rakhine State lawmaker U Tun Hla Sein said the authorities are not handling the issue seriously enough.
“It is assumed that the virus spread from Bangladesh. The authorities need to carefully handle border crossings but they are not handling the COVID-19 outbreak seriously as they have had their jabs. Personnel told me that there is no budget for COVID-19,” said the Maungdaw-based former lawmaker.
Four residents tested positive for COVID-19 in Mingan ward in Rakhine State’s capital Sittwe this week. Numerous sailors who returned after transporting goods to Bangladesh also caught the virus. More than 40 covid patients are at Sittwe Hospital.

Basic education schools opened on 1 June in Rakhine and more than 300,000 or almost all pupils have attended schools in the state, according to the office.

Myanmar Junta colonel killed in raid in Mandalay resistance
A lieutenant colonel, captain and an other rank from Myanmar’s military were killed on Tuesday by the People’s Defense Force (PDF) formed by civilian resistance fighters in Mandalay.
The three were killed by a small group of poorly armed civilian resistance fighters after junta forces raided a Mandalay PDF base in Hton Tone ward in Chan Mya Thazi Township on Tuesday morning.
Lieutenant Colonel Aung Myo Kyaw was an adjutant staff officer.
“The staff officer and captain died before the two sides exchanged fire and another soldier was shot during the shooting. Three died from the military side,” said a source in Mandalay.
The colonel and captain entered a two-story building, where the PDF was based, ahead of their troops and without making their weapons ready, said a ward resident.
“It appeared that they didn’t know there were armed PDF members inside the building. They arrived in a private vehicle and entered the building. They were shot by PDF members inside the building. Military trucks arrived after that,” said the resident.
Junta troops threw bombs and used a grenade launcher to assault the building.
The officers were rescued and taken to the military hospital inside the Mandalay Palace, but they died.
Myanmar’s military never discloses its casualties but there are widespread reports on social media, including in military circles, that the colonel is dead.
The captain is reportedly from the Military Security Affairs Office.
Lt Col Aung Myo Kyaw filed a complaint against monk U Thawbita, the head of the Bawa Alin charity in Mandalay, in 2019 for defaming the military on Facebook. The monk posted that Myanmar’s military is more destructive than a natural disaster.
He was the highest-ranking junta officer killed since the February coup.
“Adjutants are responsible for administrative matters. They barely need to go outside. Military operations are normally supervised by G1 [general staff officer]. The fact that an adjutant came on an operation means the military is overstretched,” said an anonymous ex-police officer.
Junta mouthpiece the Myawaddy Television claimed four civilian resistance fighters died and eight others were detained in the clash that lasted about 90 minutes. Mandalay PDF said two of its members were killed and six were detained.
All the detainees were reportedly taken to the Mandalay Palace camp for interrogation.
There are reports that the PDF base was identified by military informants and Tuesday’s raid is connected with the previous junta raid on a PDF military training ground on the outskirts of Mandalay on May 21.
Striking military officers Lt. Min Khant Kyaw and Lt. Soe Wai Hlaing were reportedly arrested in the May 21 raid, and another striking military officer Capt. Lin Htet Aung said he had lost contact with the two and warned people to take caution if they were contacted by the officers’ Facebook accounts.

UN Agency: 230,000 displaced since Myanmar coup
A United Nations humanitarian agency says the number of people displaced by violence and fighting in Myanmar since the Feb. 1 coup has increased to around 230,000 and stressed that they need assistance.
“Displaced people, as well as communities in affected areas, are in urgent need of a wide range of humanitarian assistance, including food and basic household materials, shelter, access to health care, water and sanitation, as well as various protection services, including psychosocial support,” the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported on Thursday.
Kayah State’s displaced population has risen to 103,500, almost three times the number the agency reported in May.
On June 22, 47,600 people were also reported as displaced in Karen State, with most living in forests, it stated.
Several thousand people have also fled fighting in Chin, Kachin and Shan states and Magwe, Sagaing and Bago regions.
The UN body said relief operations were ongoing but were being hindered by armed clashes, violence and insecurity.
In the mountain town of Mindat, Chin State, seven civilians displaced by junta offensives on the town died from lack of medical care, a camp volunteer in the township said.
Mindat Township displacement camp management committee has sought volunteers to provide health care in the camps as there are no medics.
The volunteer said some civilians have returned home as clashes between the junta and Chinland Defense Forces have ceased although some people remain in the camps.

U.S. Democrats promote funding police amid crime surge, Republicans will fund more
Reporter : Eric Mack, Newsmax
Democrats might have been elected by those seeking to defund the police last year, but now those elected officials are doing the opposite: funding the police to combat rising violent crime they expect to continue to rise into the summer.
"After months of ignoring ongoing crime in American cities, the president finally addressed the violence this week," House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., said Friday, adding Republicans "will not defund the police. We will add more."
President Joe Biden's March coronavirus stimulus permitted federal funds to be used to fund police departments and the administration this week promoted that, according to the Director of White House Office of Public Engagement Cedric L. Richmond.
That comes as the White House is expecting the rising rates of violent crime to continue into the summer, an official told The Washington Post.
"Prominent voices on the left — including some of our colleagues — fanned the flames of a dangerously misguided experiment, and law-abiding Americans are paying the price," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said on the Senate floor Thursday.
Richmond called painting Democrats as defunders of police "BS," but some Democrats are open in a mea culpa.
"'Defund police' is a phrase that I wish had never been uttered," Rep. Cheri Bustos, D-Ill., the wife of a sheriff, told the Post. "We've got to do a better job of talking about what we do want to do."
Moderate Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., now one of the more critical voices for the party amid a 50-50 Senate, tweeted: "Defund the police? Defund, my butt."
Republicans will still have some voices calling for defunding the police in the Democratic Party, including former Black Lives Matter activist Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., who tweeted earlier this month:
"Manchin & Co. be like 'defund the police costs us elections' while actively sabotaging our Dem agenda. Our movement was at the heart of the organizing that won us the 2020 elections. Now conservative Dems block our progress."
The White House's Richmond called Republicans "weak on crime" for voting against a Jan. 6 Commission and urged Democrats to be better in their messaging.
"I think that Democratic candidates need to talk about what they want to do, and not necessarily in slogan language," he told the Post.
