Since the establishment of the Chinese Communist Party, it has been trying to destroy religious beliefs. One of the important methods is to distort religious doctrines. In recent years, the CCP has intensified its violent suppression of religions. At the same time, there were also reports of a bad incident of official textbooks blatantly tampering with the "Bible". The book even claimed that Jesus personally stoned a woman.
The official textbook involved is the textbook "Professional Ethics and Law" for secondary vocational education published by the University of Electronic Science and Technology Press. The book was edited by Pan Zhongmei, Li Gang, and Xu Baoyu. It was published in 2018 after being approved by the editorial review committee of the official education department of the Communist Party of China.

An "Classroom Question and Answer" in the book adapted the story of Jesus "compassing the harlot" in the "Gospel of John".
The original text of the "Bible" read: Jesus straightened up and said to them: Whoever among you is innocent can stone him first. When they heard this, they went out one by one, from old to young. Only Jesus was left, and the woman was still standing among them. Jesus straightened up and said to her: Woman, where are those people? Has no one condemned you? She said: Lord, no. Jesus said: I will not condemn you either. Go ahead and stop committing crimes from now on!
But the textbook changed this section of the "Bible" to read: Jesus once said to the crowd who was angry about killing a woman who had committed a crime: "If any of you has not committed a crime, come forward and kill him." Listen. With this, everyone no longer moves forward. When everyone retreated, Jesus took the stone and shot the woman to death, and said, "I am also a sinner. But if the law can only be enforced by a flawless person, the law will only die."
Recently, a believer uploaded a photo of the textbook to the WeChat official account, saying that the textbook has been used in some secondary professional schools, which is an insult to the church. "I want to expose it. I want everyone to know that the CCP has always tried to falsify the history of the church, slander the church, and make people hate our church. We Christians must resist this behavior of the CCP."
Some commentators also pointed out that while the textbook slandered Jesus, it also hinted that the illegal behavior of the Chinese Communist Party's judicial personnel was "inevitable" and "should be tolerated."
"Apple Daily" quoted a commentary by Lu Bingquan, a senior lecturer in the Department of Journalism of HKBU, who believes in Catholicism. He also pointed out that at the time when it was widely reported that the Communist Party of China was compiling a "CCP version" of the "Bible", some publishing houses could not wait to tamper with the content of the "Bible" to serve the official concept.
The CCP has been suppressing religious beliefs since its establishment. Following the violent suppression of the Cultural Revolution, they turned to use people within the system to infiltrate and control the church, and constantly rewrite and distort the doctrine, trying to make religion serve politics. In recent years, the CCP’s suppression of religious beliefs has turned to violence again, and actions to destroy beliefs by distorting doctrines are also proceeding at the same time.
