SARS-CoV-2 (CCP virus) is still raging around the world. Recently, South Korea’s latest research pointed out that up to 90% of the country’s confirmed covid patients reported that they had experienced more than one sequelae, including fatigue, psychological or mental sequelae, and loss of taste or smell. Many previous studies have pointed out that CCP virus is still mutating and will cause damage to multiple organs of the body. These damages may even be permanent sequelae.

According to foreign media reports, South Korea published the latest study on the covid epidemic on 29 September. Kwon Joon-wook, Deputy Director of the Anti-epidemic Measures Headquarters (KDCA), said that a survey of 965 domestic recovered people found that as many as 879 (about 91.1%) reported that they had experienced at least one sequelae.

Quan Junxu explained that fatigue is the most common, accounting for 26.2%, followed by inattention, accounting for 24.6%. Others include psychological or mental sequelae, as well as loss of taste or smell.

Quan Jun-wook emphasized that this survey is based on the opinion of Kim Shin-woo, a professor of internal medicine at Kyungpook University School of Medicine, asking a total of 5,762 recovered patients in South Korea, of which 16.7% participated in this survey.

On 30 September, a total of 23,812 confirmed cases and 413 deaths were reported across South Korea.

The CCP virus is still mutating

Recently, a new study showed that the CCP virus has undergone new mutations and is more spread. It may be more adaptable, able to bypass obstacles such as masks and hand washing.

The Washington Post reported that American scientists disclosed a new CCP virus strain in a paper published on Wednesday (September 23), and this mutant strain called D614G is more infectious . This strain accounted for 99.9% of the second wave of outbreaks in the Houston area of the United States.

According to David Morens, a virologist at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the results of the study show that as the virus spreads among people, it becomes more infectious and stronger. This may affect our ability to control it.

Morens pointed out that the virus may have been upgraded to resist measures such as hand washing, wearing masks and social distancing.

SARS-CoV-2 attacks all organs

The CCP virus’s attack on human organs is very serious. Earlier, the British "Times" website published an article that experts from the British Academy of Intensive Care Medicine said that by observing thousands of surviving covid patients with severe illness, it was found that the CCP virus can attack the human body in all directions. The lungs, heart and other organs of patients will be damaged by the CCP virus and it will take up to 15 years to recover.

Covid is a respiratory disease that mainly affects the lungs. Therefore, the first thing that the virus SARS-CoV-2 hurts is the lungs. The recovery from lung diseases requires a process.

A research review published in the journal Science in April pointed out that the CCP virus in the human body not only affects the lungs, but also further damages other body organs. Most of the organs under attack have more ACE-2 receptors attached to the surface, including the heart, blood vessels, kidneys, intestines, nervous system and brain, and the CCP virus can penetrate these recipients' cells.

On 25 March, a paper published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) pointed out that in Wuhan, 20% of the 416 patients hospitalized with covid had heart damage.

An article on 6 April in the Monthly Magazine of Scientific American stated that in addition to lung damage, many Chinese patients with covid also suffered from heart problems-died of cardiac arrest. One out of every five patients suffers from heart damage, and even patients with no signs of respiratory distress can lead to heart failure and death.

The CCP virus seems to cause unusual blood clotting. According to a paper published in Thrombosis Research on 10 April, 38% of the 184 Chinese patients with pneumonia admitted to the intensive care unit of a Dutch hospital had abnormal blood clotting.

A paper published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) pointed out that ACE2, the infection pathway of the CCP virus, is abundantly present in renal tubular cells, which seems to imply that the CCP virus will attack the kidney.

On 3 April, the Japanese research team published a case study showing that a patient suffering from covid eventually developed meningitis and encephalitis, and the CCP virus was found in his cerebrospinal fluid, which shows that the virus will attack the central nervous system.

According to a paper published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology (AJG), the stool samples of the infected person showed positive viral RNA, and the patient’s endoscopic examination of the patient’s colon was found to be damaged, which suggested that the CCP virus infected the gastrointestinal tract.
