Recently, Houston has tracked the virus spread of SARS-CoV-2 (covi, in short, CCP virus) through weekly inspections of the city’s wastewater for covi. Researchers released data on Thursday, confirming that the Houston epidemic has improved.

If you are infected with covid, the human feces will also carry the virus, even if you are asymptomatic, it is the same.

Houston began testing the CCP virus in the city’s wastewater in May this year.

Weekly sampling and analysis of 39 wastewater treatment plants have detected possible covi infections in the living areas of each wastewater treatment plant. Draw the distribution map of the epidemic infection, identify the severely epidemic area, and strengthen the local epidemic prevention in a targeted manner.

Rice University and Baylor College of Medicine are responsible for the analysis of wastewater samples.

The data released on Thursday showed that the covi components in the waste water of Houston continued to decrease, and the research data was consistent with the conclusions of the data collected by various virus detection stations, confirming the trend of the virus in Houston.

Compared with virus testing stations, wastewater testing eliminates the prerequisites that people must voluntarily participate in virus testing, reduces the impact of human factors on epidemic statistics, and can detect the spread of the epidemic in a relatively short time.

The researchers said that they have the ability to make the sampling more detailed and accurate each sample to the residential area, so as to provide the epidemic prevention unit with a more accurate range of targets. The Houston Department of Health announced that it will begin testing for covi in the waste water of the Houston Long-Term Care Center.
