The Novel Coronavirus Popularized Community Testing Program (National Testing) was concluded on 14 September 2020. The Hong Kong government stated in the evening that since the National Testing started on 1 September, a total of approximately 1.783 million people have sampled at community testing centers throughout Hong Kong. The government replied to Ming Pao's query that as of 8 pm on 14 September, a total of 123,000 people had made online appointments but had not attended the virus tests. About 530,000 people went directly to the testing centres for sampling without online appointments. In addition, 17,000 people were found to have repeated the tests.

Besides as at 8 pm on 14 September, the authorities received a total of 301 cases claiming that personal data was used by others for registration appointments. Among them, 161 cases were suspected to involve misappropriation of other people's personal data and have been transferred to the police for processing. Investigations will follow after.

A government spokesman said that although the universal testing has come to an end, the government will continue to expand the testing of specific groups or high-risk groups, and will also conduct repeated tests in this area, emphasizing that it will never relax its epidemic prevention and control work.
