Singapore has started to issue wearable contact tracing devices known as "TraceTogether token" on 14 September 2020 to citizens, permanent residents and work permit holders including maids and foreign expatriates.

The first group of the public to collect TraceTogether tokens are residents living near the 20 community centres and clubs in 11 districts such as Buona Vista, Whampoa, Potong Pasir, Tanjung Pagar and Kampong Glam districts.

Connect to Bluetooth, the TraceTogether token works using a battery that can last six months. Each token which has the battery has a space for the user to write his or her name so that it cannot be lent to the other.

The tokens will not work if they stop flashing the green light and the batteries will need to be replaced. Till then, users may visit the community centres or call the number indicated on the devices to replace the batteries.

TraceTogether tokens, their slings and user guides will be gradually issued to the rest of the population in Singapore until end of November 2020. To collect them, bring original IDs with barcodes including NRICs and work permit cards.

Do not just request only for the tokens alone.
