The 3rd Ministerial Conference on Promoting Freedom of Religious Belief officially opened on Monday (November 16). This conference is hosted by Poland and held online. On the same day, US Secretary of State Pompeo and International Religious Freedom Ambassador Brownback condemned the CCP’s persecution of faith groups in speeches and tweets respectively.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, "Let us move forward with this belief: Faith will last forever, and tyranny will perish!"

The Ministerial Conference on Promoting Freedom of Religious Belief was initiated by the United States in 2018, and the first two sessions were hosted by the US State Department. For the third session of this year, Poland will be the host country. Officials and private representatives from 127 countries attended remotely.

The purpose of this meeting is to continue to expand the efforts of the international community to promote freedom of religious belief and protect religious minorities, especially during the global epidemic, these basic rights are more likely to be endangered.

On the 16th, the U.S. State Department tweeted a quote from Secretary of State Pompeo. He said, "If we don't defend religious freedom, no one will do it." He once again criticized the CCP for its persecution of Falun Gong and other faith groups.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, "The CCP's war on faith targets Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, and Falun Gong practitioners. The CCP will not let anyone go."

The U.S. State Department’s Religious Freedom Ambassador Brownback also tweeted condemning the CCP, which is still intensifying the decades-long war on faith, and continues to order religious groups to incorporate communist doctrines into their beliefs and practices. This is unacceptable.

In this ministerial meeting on religious freedom, the first day was a high-level official meeting, the second day was a special discussion between civil society and religious groups, and there were several side meetings afterwards. Among them, on Wednesday there will be a seminar on Falun Gong's 21 years of persecution in China and the forced organ harvesting of prisoners of religious conscience in China.

In February this year, under the leadership of the United States, the International Alliance for Freedom of Religious Belief was established, and 31 countries have joined.
