Zhong Nanshan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said on 27 November that many people have been found to have influenza A and covid at the same time. With the advent of winter, both the influenza and the covid epidemic have entered an outbreak period, making prevention and control of the epidemic more difficult.

According to mainland Chinese media’s 21st Century Business Report, Zhong Nanshan gave a report on the mainland epidemic at the first China Health Technology Innovation and Development Conference held in Shenzhen today (November 27).

Zhong Nanshan said that 4 cases of influenza A with H1 and H3 subtype viruses and covid have been known so far. In the future, rapid testing equipment is needed to quickly detect whether a patient is infected with SARS-CoV-2 (covi, CCP virus) or influenza virus.

He also said that at present, the protection methods for influenza A and the CCP virus epidemic are the same. They are all through wearing masks and avoiding gatherings.

Recently, there have been covi outbreaks in many parts of the mainland, and many cities have entered a "wartime state" of epidemic prevention and control. The city of Manzhouli in Inner Mongolia began to be locked down on 24 November, and the entire population was undergoing nucleic acid testing. Now there are cases of double infection, making the prevention and control of the epidemic more difficult. At present, the CCP virus is reigniting around the world. Although the Beijing Kexing vaccine was accused of being a problem vaccine, this vaccine was peddled on the Chinese Internet on August 14, and Zhejiang Province has received 743,000 vaccinations. Zhong Nanshan said that the winter has come this year, and there must be a detection method that can quickly identify whether it is influenza or covid. The flu and covid have the same protection methods, and the flu has been greatly reduced this year.

Zhong Nanshan also pointed out that wearing masks can effectively prevent transmission, and surgical masks and N95 masks can reduce the transmission of droplets and aerosols. As for vaccines, he pointed out that the public must be vaccinated on a large scale, and it will take at least two or three years to find a good and really good vaccine.
