Following Wuhan, Hubei, Zhejiang and Jiangxi Provinces in mainland China have been locked down while 80 other China cities have implemented closure measures. New novel coronavirus cases have continued to appear in other countries, highlighting the severity of the pandemic.

For more than a month, the novel coronavirus pandemic has triggered an unprecedented "lockdown" operation in mainland China.

On 4 February 2020, Yueqing City, Zhejiang Province announced its closure.

Zhengzhou, Henan, Hangzhou, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, Linyi, Shandong and other cities have begun closed management.

On 5 February 2020 Liaoning Province, Hefei  of Anhui Province, Kunming of Yunnan Province and many more regions launched the closure mode.

On 6 February 2020, Tianjin, where more than 9,000 people had been quarantined, became the first municipality on the mainland to declare a closure. Jiangxi Province also entered full closed management on the same day.

On 7 February 2020, two first-tier cities, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and 16 cities in Anhui Province were added to the list of closures.

So far,  Hubei, Liaoning, and Jiangxi have been locked down, and about 80 cities have implemented closure measures of to an extent.

In Beijing, which has not yet announced the closure of the city, a street view shot by Reuters reporters on 6 February 2020 showed that the road was empty at the peak of traffic. The lively Xiushui Street market was closed, and there were no passengers getting on and off at Yonganli Metro Station.

In Wuhan, although the entire city is like an empty city, there is a long queue outside the door of Xiehe Hospital where people waiting in line for the virus test cannot see the beginning of the queue.

There are still many patients with obvious symptoms of novel coronavirus. They were kicked out by hospitals and street communities for isolation at home. Due to the extreme lack of medical resources, too many patients cannot be diagnosed and treated, and they have to wait for death.

For the newly-built Huoshenshan and Leishenshan Hospitals of the Communist Party of China, the exposed ward doors can only be opened from the outside. The windows of each room have iron railings, and are managed by the army. They appear to resemble concentration camps rather than hospitals.

The so-called square cabin hospital does not have any medical or isolation facilities at all. All patients stay and sleep on beds facing one another, and the danger of cross infection is huge.

According to an exclusive survey conducted by the overseas Chinese media "The Epoch Times", on 3 February 2020, the number of novel coronavirus corpses cremated by funeral parlours in Hubei exceeded the total number of deaths announced by the Chinese authorities as of that day.

A funeral parlour member who was investigated said that the "transportation and cremation volume of the corpse is now 4 to 5 times as usual", and preliminary statistics show that 60 per cent of the corpses were pulled directly from the deceased's home, not the hospitals.

Earlier in mainland China, a piece of data on the infection of the novel coronavirus by medical staff in some hospitals in Hubei was reported.

Data show that as 27 January 2020, there were 13 hospitals in Hubei that had more than 15 confirmed cases of patients who are medical staff, and more than 1,100 medical staff were diagnosed or suspected of infection. Among them, Xiehe Hospital topped the list with 262 medical patients. The earliest recorded infection was on 1 January 2020.

On 7 February 2020, Wuhan Central Hospital posted a message on Weibo. The ophthalmologist Li Wenliang of the hospital died of the rescue operation at 2:58 am. Dr. Li Wenliang was warned and punished by the Chinese authorities as a "rumor maker" because he had warned Wuhan about the novel coronavirus outbreak to a group of friends before the Chinese authorities arrested, reprimanded and released him.

The death of Dr. Li Wenliang once again detonated Internet public opinion. People believe that Li Wenliang died of the Communist Party's bad law restricting freedom of speech, criticizing the authorities for suppressing speech, concealing the epidemic.

The China Communist Party (CCP) has used "hitting rumors" as one of the means to maintain stability, so as to cover up the truth that is not advantageous to CCP. This is the main cause of the outbreak severity but sadly, the CCP will never learn a lesson.

Qin Peng, a political and economic analyst in the United States: The CCP maintains its power and existence through violence and lies. Therefore, it is absolutely unwilling to correct mistakes and not apologize easily. Therefore, to this day, the CCP has covered up the situation caused by it. There is no repentance over the catastrophe. Continued suppression of freedom of speech and covering up the truth will kill many people.

Multi-party evidence from the mainland's civil society shows that the CCP has seriously concealed the epidemic situation, which has caused the spread of novel coronavirus in China and to other countries.

For the first time, American and Japanese nationals died in Wuhan of novel coronavirus. Japan has the largest number of patients diagnosed overseas, with a total of 89 cases.

The United States announced that it has spent 100 million US dollars to aid China and other countries affected by the novel coronavirus, and has donated 17.8 tons of medical supplies to China, including masks.

As of 7 February 2020, Singapore has 33 confirmed novel coronavirus cases. The authorities raised the alert level to orange, the same as in the 2003 SARS outbreak.

So far, the novel coronavirus epidemic has spread to 28 countries and regions around the world. Nearly 300 cases have been confirmed overseas so far, and 2 patients have died.

In 62 countries and regions, temporary restrictions were imposed on Chinese citizens or people departing from China, and navigation was suspended or partially suspended to prevent and control the epidemic spread.
