In the evening of 22 February 2020 at 10.20 pm Israel time (in the early morning of 23 February 2020, Singapore time), after Korean Air flight KE957 landed at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel, nearly 200 passengers from South Korea and other countries (non-Israel) on the flight are denied entry into Israeli territory. Twelve Israeli passengers are taken directly home for isolation for 14 days. After refueling and catering, the aircraft is scheduled to depart for Incheon at 10 pm local time on the same day.

As of 23 February 2020, South Korea has 556 confirmed covid cases, including 4 deaths.

In Israel,  9 South Koreans were diagnosed with the disease just after ending their journey in Israel. About 1,000 South Korean tourists currently traveling in Israel have been told to avoid entering public places. They must consciously isolate themselves in hotels and wait for relevant authorities to take corresponding measures.

According to reports, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu will convene an emergency special meeting on 23 February to discuss how to deal with the spread of covid in Israel.
