US Secretary of State Pompeo left for Japan on Sunday to participate in the "Four-Party Security Dialogue" with the foreign ministers of the United States, Japan, Australia and India. The outside world predicts that Pompeo's trip may promote the "Asian NATO" alliance and further encircle and suppress the CCP.
The State Department announced on Sunday that the United States has been preparing for the "four-party security dialogue" with Japan, Australia, and India for a long time and expects a major announcement.
Before leaving on Sunday, Secretary of State Pompeo hinted that the United States is ready diplomatic and military to meet the challenges of the CCP.
US Secretary of State Pompeo: "We know that there are dishonest participants, and we know that there are vicious participants in the world. The United States is fully prepared, whether it is the State Department or our diplomats (all ready). This afternoon, I and (Chief of the U.S. General Staff) General Miller talked, and everyone was ready."
On Monday, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga once again emphasized the foreign policy based on the Japan-US alliance.
Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga: "Based on the core and effective alliance between Japan and the United States, we need to formulate measures to protect Japan's national interests."
On Tuesday, Yoshihide Suga will participate in the meeting of the four foreign ministers to discuss important issues such as security in the Indo-Pacific region.
Pompeo tweeted on Monday that this trip will promote the idea of a free and open "Indo-Pacific".
In 2017, the Trump administration proposed the "Free and Open Indo-Pacific Strategy", the core of which is to establish an "Asian NATO" to check and balance the CCP.
"The Washington Times" previously reported that US Special Envoy for North Korea and Deputy Secretary of State Steven Biegan stated that the "four-party security dialogue" may lead to "Asian NATO", and the alliance may be formed during Trump's second term.
Before leaving, Pompeo also held a conference call with the national security team and President Trump who was being treated in the hospital.
He mentioned that Trump is in good spirits and made the latest instructions for his trip to Japan.
US Secretary of State Pompeo: "He is in good spirits. He is in good shape. He is as candid to me as ever. This is a great conversation."
Pompeo also cancelled his scheduled visits to Mongolia and South Korea.
