Covid outbreak in Xiamen, XiamenAir cancels all international cargo flights

XiamenAir, the city airline of Xiamen, has cancelled 79 flights in two days after one of its employees was diagnosed with covid. In addition, all intercontinental cargo flights before September were also suspended.

On 30 July 2021, an international cargo crew member of XiamenAir was diagnosed with covid and transmitted the disease to his three family members. The Xiamen authorities announced that they are suspending mass activities and large-scale dining, launching Level 3 emergency response, and carrying out nucleic acid testing and investigations throughout the city, and requiring citizens not to leave Xiamen unless necessary.

XiamenAir announced the cancellation of a total of 79 flights on 30 and 31 July 2021, and cancellation of all intercontinental cargo flights from that day to the end of August.
