Comprehensive TASS News Agency and Russian Satellite News Agency reports on 12 September that the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Health stated the first batch of "Sputnik V" vaccines had been shipped to relevant regions in Russia.
"As part of the pilot delivery, the logistics chain for delivering vaccines to constituent entities of the Russian Federation, distribution and organization of vaccines against COVID-19 to citizens of high-risk groups will be ensured," said a spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Health.
On 11 August, the Russian Ministry of Health registered the world's first vaccine for the prevention of novel coronavirus infections, which was jointly developed by the Gamallea National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology and the Russian Direct Investment Fund. Phase 3 clinical trials are currently underway.
The British "Lancet" magazine published the results of Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials of the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine on 4 September. Volunteers who injected the vaccine had a stable immune response. Compared with covid patients, these volunteers' antibody level are 40% to 50% higher than that of covid patients. No serious adverse reactions were found.
