Beijing epidemic situation is out of control, and the heads of 8 hospitals, 5 districts are interviewed. Recently, medical teams from Hubei and other five provinces have given aid to Beijing, and various medical institutions have upgraded their prevention and control levels. At the same time, officials strictly control public opinion and arrest the so-called "rumourmongers." A Beijing citizen revealed that the epidemic was quite serious, but the official did not report the truth.
Medical teams from other provinces support Beijing
The China CDC recently announced that "Beijing's epidemic has been brought under control."
Yet in the afternoon of 20 June 2020, Peking University International Hospital issued a notice that a nurse in the emergency department of the hospital was diagnosed with novel coronavirus pneumonia (covid). This nurse was a close contact with a confirmed case in Haidian District. She has close contact with patients and colleagues. The hospital is now closed and the outpatient service is suspended.
On the morning of the same day, the first medical teams of Hubei Province arrived in Beijing to support major hospitals in Beijing. Including 6 large-scale top three hospitals including Wuhan University Central South Hospital, Wuhan University People's Hospital, Huazhong University of Science and Technology Tongji Hospital, Huazhong University of Science and Technology Union Hospital, a total of more than 70 professional medical staff came to support Beijing ant-epidemic work.
According to Chinese Communist Party media reports, Wuhan University Zhongnan Hospital will support Beijing Hospital, Huake Tongji Hospital will support Beijing Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital, and Huake Union Hospital will support Peking Union Medical College Hospital.
In addition, dozens of epidemiological investigators from Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, Shandong Province, Henan Province, and the China CDC have arrived at relevant hospitals in Beijing.
At present, the National Health Commission has requested various medical institutions in Beijing to upgrade their covid prevention and control levels.
Persons in charge of 8 hospitals in Beijing and 5 districts were interviewed
In addition, on 18 and 19 June, the Beijing Medical Security Group, the Municipal Health Commission, and the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection held two interviews, and the heads of eight medical institutions in Beijing were interviewed. These include the China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Beijing Shijitan Hospital, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Peking University Cancer Hospital, and Children's Hospital Affiliated to Capital Institute of Pediatrics.
On 19 June, the Chinese Communist Party reported that Beijing Ditan Hospital had 758 beds and 1070 new beds, and 102 medical staff from 18 municipal hospitals came to support it.
In addition to Beijing medical institutions, government leaders in charge of the five districts of Dongcheng District, Haidian District, Chaoyang District, Daxing District, and Pinggu District, and persons in charge of the Economic and Technological Development Zone were also interviewed.
Prior to this, several streets, townships, and towns in these five districts were listed as "medium risk areas" for the epidemic. On June 14, Zhou Yuqing, deputy head of Fengtai District, Wang Hua, secretary of the Huaxiang Party Committee of Fengtai District, and Zhang Yuelin, general manager of Xinfadi Agricultural Products Wholesale Market, were all removed from office due to poor prevention and control of the epidemic. Earlier, Chinese Communist Party experts made it clear that this wave of SARS-CoV-2 in Beijing is "more infectious" than the previous virus.
According to the Beiqing Community News, on June 20, in the Tianshi Mingyuan Community in Beiyuan, Tongzhou District, medical personnel in protective clothing performed nucleic acid testing on the community personnel. The "Announcement" posted in the small area said that two people in the community tested positive for nucleic acid, and all personnel should be investigated.
Beijing resident Ms. Tang told Radio Free Asia, “Beijing You’an Hospital said that more than 300 people were checked on the 14th. Fengtai and Daxing were the most serious.”
Ms. Tang also said, “The numbers they (the CCP media) say are less than one-third.” The CCP’s official report on 14 June confirmed only 36 people, which were seriously questioned by the outside world.
Ten "rumourmongers" in Beijing were arrested
At the same time, the Chinese Communist Party authorities began to block the epidemic information, massively delete the "dissonant voices" of netizens about the epidemic, and arrest the so-called "rumourmongers."
At a press conference in Beijing on 19 June, the police claimed to investigate and deal with 60 cases of "rumours involving epidemic situation", criminal detention of 1 person, and administrative detention of 9 people. Outsiders questioned that the "Beijing Whistleblower" might be reprimanded and banned by the police.
At present, the epidemic in Beijing has spread to many provinces. Zhejiang, Liaoning, Hebei, and Sichuan all have confirmed cases related to Beijing, and confirmed cases have also appeared in Xiong'an New District, which is adjacent to Beijing.
The documents obtained by The Epoch Times show that the epidemic prevention measures in Anxin County of Xiong'an New District have been fully upgraded since 13 June. The authorities demanded control of public opinion and did not allow unauthorized release of epidemic information.
Various indications indicate that Beijing's epidemic is severe and out of control, not as the official understates. Outsiders worry that the authorities will again hide information about the epidemic in order to maintain stability and repeat Wuhan's mistakes.
