Thailand’s Civil Aviation Authority relaxes entry restrictions from 1 July 2020

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand issued an announcement in the evening of 29 June 2020 that it will relax the entry restrictions for flights from 1 July 2020 and issue entry permits for flights carrying 11 types of passengers.

According to the announcement, these 11 categories of passengers include the six categories of foreigners previously announced by the Thai government as of July 1, namely foreigners with work permits and their spouses and children, foreigners with Thai spouses, and permanent residence Foreigners, foreign students and their parents, foreigners going to Thailand to receive medical services, business people and professional and technical personnel from countries and regions that have signed special bilateral agreements with the Thai government. Countries and regions that have signed special bilateral agreements include Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Mainland China and Hong Kong.

In addition, Thai citizens, foreign guests invited by the Thai government due to special circumstances, freight transport personnel, air crew members and diplomatic personnel, these five types of passengers have not been subject to flight entry restrictions before, and are also classified as obtaining entry permits. The Thai Civil Aviation Authority banned commercial flights from entering Thailand on April 4, and then extended the ban four times until June 30.

As of 30 June 2020, Thailand has not suffered from local covid infections for 36 consecutive days.
