Germany is the terminal of Wang Yi's trip to Europe. On 1 September 2020, hundreds of demonstrators protested against Wang Yi's visit at the gate of the German Foreign Ministry.

Nathan Law, former chairman of the Hong Kong All-for-Being Founding Party, and Margarete Bause, a member of the German Green Party, participated in a protest rally in front of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs building.

German Green Party MP Bowser delivered a speech at the protest. She publicly shouted to the foreign ministers of China and Germany: "Human rights cannot be negotiated."

Bowser pointed out that Wang Yi's visit to five European countries was aimed at "stopping losses." The CCP's long-term human rights persecution has recently intensified, causing its international image to plummet. Wang Yi was ordered to come to Europe to smear the CCP in order to restore the CCP's reputation. However, Wang Yi did not review it, and instead responded arrogantly with threats and attacks. Wang Yi's words and deeds are offensive.

Bowser stated that he would stand firmly on the side of the Czech government and say "no" to the CCP's trampling of freedom and human rights in Xinjiang and Hong Kong.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with German Foreign Minister Maas on September 1. Wang Yi threatened to retaliate against the Czech Speaker’s visit to Taiwan at the press conference. Maas responded that he had spoken to the Czech Foreign Minister by phone to express Germany's support for the Czech Republic and warned Wang Yi face to face that "threat is not suitable for this place."

Wang Yi, who is visiting Europe, publicly threatened to make the Czech Senate president "pay a heavy price" for visiting Taiwan, which aroused dissatisfaction among European countries. On 1 September, after meeting with German Foreign Minister Maas, Wang Yi once again threatened to retaliate against the Czech Republic at a press conference. Mass responded to Wang Yi face-to-face, saying that he had spoken with the Czech Foreign Minister on the phone to express Germany's support for the Czech Republic.

Maas said that as Europeans, we will work closely together. We respect international partners, but we also hope that international partners will respect us. As the foreign minister of the European Union's rotating presidency, he warned Wang Yi that "threat is not suitable here."

At the same time, Maas also pointed out the CCP's violation of human rights in Hong Kong. He stated that Germany hopes that Hong Kong's "One Country, Two Systems" can be fully implemented and that the reelection of the Legislative Council will resume as soon as possible. He also called on the CCP to revoke the "Hong Kong version of the National Security Law."

Wang Yi threatened the Czech Republic during his visit to Europe, which was strongly condemned by European officials. The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Bundestag of the German Parliament, Norbert Röttgen, criticized that the fact that the Chinese Foreign Minister personally “terrorized another EU member state and parliament” during his visit to Germany was “not only diplomatic but also democratic blasphemy".

Rotgen said that EU member states recognize the "one-China policy," but it is still possible to visit Taiwan. "Taiwan is not a blank space on the global map."

Miriam Lexmann, a member of the European Parliament of Slovakia, said that whether to develop relations with Taiwan is the sovereignty of each country and does not require the consent of the CCP, pointing out that the CCP's threat is unacceptable.

The European Commission's foreign affairs spokesman Peter Stano said he did not like to see diplomatic statements threatening the Czech Republic.

Czech Senate President Vitči retaliated strongly against Wang Yi's threat. He said that the Czech Republic's visit to Taiwan does not violate the one-China principle. Taiwan is a democratic country and there are shared values between Taiwan and Czech Republic. The Czech Republic "will not obey other non-democratic countries."

Novotny, the mayor of Prague’s Řeporyje district, issued an open letter, calling Wang Yi an "unreasonable and reckless clown" and asking Wang Yi to apologize, "I will give you twenty-four hours to write the letter of apology and put it on the desk of the Czech Foreign Minister !" Otherwise, "I will make you pay a very painful price."

Wang Yi's visit to the five European countries was called a "fire-fighting trip", but he was met with cold reception and protests along the way. Foreign media believe that Wang Yi's "wolf war diplomacy" is a complete failure.
