According to Ming Pao on 2 September 2020, a restaurant in Shau Kei Wan posted a notice in the store saying that it would not serve people who have accepted the "Universal Community Testing Program" (hereinafter referred to as mass testing). The incident caused controversy. The Equal Opportunities Commission issued a statement stating that the shop suspected Hongkongers who participated in the test to be vulnerable to infection and determined that they had an intelligence of less than 65 and would not entertain them. This may violate the Disability Discrimination Ordinance. In addition, the police received a report that the shop displayed slogans that violated the "Hong Kong National Security Act". Police officers arrived at the scene yesterday and asked the shop staff to remove the poster showing the words "Recover the World, Revolution of the Times" , US Secretary of State Pompeo and US President Trump.

The Shau Kei Wan restaurant "Tadon Home" recently posted a notice in the store, stating that people are "easy to be infected when domestic medical staff are unprofessional and superficially tested," and suspected that those who have undergone national testing have "intelligence less than 65." The customers did not know how to distinguish the high-quality food in the store, so the waiters refused to provide service.

The EOC issued a statement the night before, stating that the restaurant blatantly posted a notice, seemingly unreasonable to believe that Hongkongers participating in the mass testing have disabilities, that is, vulnerable to infection and mentally under 65 or above, and refusing to provide services to these citizens is a blatant advocacy. Discriminatory behavior is also likely to violate the Disability Discrimination Ordinance. The EOC strongly condemns this.

The warning indicators are not criminal and miscellaneous

In addition, the police stated that they received a report from the public that the slogan displayed by the restaurant was suspected of violating the "Hong Kong National Security Law". After the Chai Wan sub-district staff arrived at the scene and learned about it, no slogan suspected of violating the Hong Kong National Security Law was found. The incident was not involved. Criminal elements are treated as "miscellaneous".

The person in charge of the restaurant, Mr. Ou, recalled that at about 1 pm on 1 September, eight uniformed police officers went to the restaurant, saying that they had received an alarm. Four of them went inside and asked, "What are you going to do?" and accused the cashier. Inside, a poster with US President Trump and the words "Recover the World, Revolution of the Times" was involved in violation of the Hong Kong National Security Law and ordered the restaurant to remove it.

Owner: Hong Kong can’t accommodate even a poster

Mr. Au said that the restaurant was "obedient" and immediately removed the poster, but he called the poster "funny" and "Mr. Trump" was his idol. He sighed that "Hong Kong family can hold even a poster." When it comes, I won’t be able to post a ghost.”

The district also revealed that since the restaurant posted a poster labelled as a "yellow shop", it has successively received many nuisance calls, "It's a swear word." After yesterday's incident, it is even more worried that those who disagree will take further action. He also expressed his helplessness towards the current situation in Hong Kong and did not rule out immigration.

After seeing the poster, some diners said, "There is no problem," but said that they were not surprised by such enforcement actions of Hong Kong police.
