Bangladesh hits 94481 covid cases as international passenger flights resume

According to data released by the Bangladesh Health Department in the afternoon of 16 June 2020, in the past 24 hours, there have been 53 new death cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection, with a total of 1262 cases.

This is the day with the largest number of new deaths in a single day in Bangladesh. At the same time, in the past 24 hours, Bangladesh has added 3862 confirmed cases, with a total of 94481 cases.

On 16 June, regular international commercial flights to and from Bangladesh began to resume operations. The local news agency reported that one Qatar Airways passenger aircraft departed from Dhaka at 2 am for Doha while another Qatar Airways passenger flight landed in Dhaka at around 3 am.

The person in charge of Biman Bangladesh Airlines said that the company's international commercial flights will also resume operations from 21 June 2020 with the first flight to London from Dhaka, a once-weekly service.

Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Administration, said recently that regular international commercial flights to and from Bangladesh will resume gradually after obtaining permission from relevant countries.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Novoair, US-Bangla Airlines and Regent Airways have resumed domestic flights.
