Maharashtra reports a total of 85,975 covid cases as domestic flights resume

On 9 June 2020 at 1 am, while most of India domestic flights including those of Trujet have resumed operations after a gruelling lock down of 76 days, Maharashtra has reported a total of 85,975 covid cases, a tally higher than that of China. India as a whole has a cumulative number of 256,611 covid cases and 7,200 deaths.

India's first phase of country unlocking, after over 70 days of being locked down, begins on 8 June 2020 in phases with religious places across the country reopening first except in the State of Odisha.

Odisha's religious places, malls and eateries remain closed while malls in Delhi have re-opened. Traffic congestions have re-emerged in the capital and Mumbai while West Bengal has extended state lock down to 30 June 2020.

Like many other Indian airlines, TruJet has issued the following guidelines on domestic air travel in India.

As of 9 June 2020 at press time, according to the India Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,

Covid Tally in India so far :

    Delhi's has a cumulative number of 28,936 cases, of which 17,125 cases are active and 812 deaths.

    Rajasthan now has 10,599 cases.

    Haryana tally has reached 4,590 and 30 deaths.

    Total 5452 cases in Karnataka, of which 3259 cases are active and 2132 patients have discharged.

    Assam has 2565 cases in total, of which 1946 cases are active and 615 patients have recovered.

    Andhra Pradesh has a cumulative number of 4,703 cases, of which 2,682 patients have discharged.

    Bihar has 5,088 cases.

    Tripura's tally has risen to 800.

    The total number of covid cases in Puducherry is 99, of which 63 are active cases and the remaining cases have discharged.

    Mizoram has a cumulative number of 34 cases.

    Sikkim has only 7 cases.
