The British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca Plc and the Oxford University have cooperated in the development of a vaccine against covid. They and other governments signed a contract. Once the vaccine is successfully developed, it will be provided in a non-profit manner, and delivery is scheduled to begin before the end of the year.

This contract is the first agreement signed by the European Inclusive Vaccines Alliance (IVA). IVA was jointly established by France, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy, with the aim of obtaining vaccines for all EU member states as soon as possible.

The vaccine was initially tested by Oxford University in April with hundreds of volunteers, and it has now been expanded to 10,000 participants.

Agence France-Presse quoted German government sources as saying that the vaccine is expected to be successfully developed before the end of the year. The IVA contract ensures that AstraZeneca Plc will provide 300 million doses of vaccine to the EU.

AstraZeneca said that the contract will provide up to 400 million doses of vaccine. He also said that the company is trying to expand the manufacturing scale and provide it for non-profit use during the outbreak.
