On overseas social media, Twitter account holder "Mongolian zayaa" uploaded photos on 1 September, showing that in the suspected classroom room, some children are wearing Mongolian clothes, some are wearing sportswear, and some children are on the table in front of them. There are also bouquets on it. What is particularly eye-catching is that there are several Chinese soldiers in military uniforms standing before the back of the room
"Mongolian zayaa" tweeted in Japanese and introduced that these are Han children wearing Mongolian costumes and performing at the entrance ceremony of a Mongolian school. The netizen claimed that the children's clothes, desks, chairs, and classrooms were all fake, in order to deceive the soldiers and Mongolians behind. He also claimed that the CCP was shameless and reported the news.
However, it has not been possible to confirm the location and time shown in this photo.
In the evening of 31 August, a netizen posted a video showing that a large number of armored personnel carriers appeared on the streets of Tongliao in Inner Mongolia.
On 1 September, the CCP mouthpiece Xinhua News Agency forwarded a report from the local state media Inner Mongolia Daily that 107 primary and secondary schools in Xilin Gol League had started school and resumed classes. But Ana (pseudonym), a doctoral student studying Mongolian in the Xilin Gol League, said in an interview with The Epoch Times, "Inner Mongolia TV reported the news that schools all over Inner Mongolia had begun. In fact, it is a fake report. Students of ethnic minorities, and there is no audio for this interview. I don’t know where I got it, but I’m sure they are not Mongolian, and I’m not sure if they are Han."
Bai Yier (a pseudonym), a Mongolian middle school teacher in Xilin Gol League Banner County, also confirmed that the local school did not start as scheduled, "At present, the Mongolian-taught students from kindergarten to high school here are not attending classes. Those who have already attended are all taken back to the pastoral area by their parents."
A member of the Xilin Gol League surnamed Hu pointed out to AFP that almost all schools in Inner Mongolia oppose the government's policy and fear that their mother tongue will disappear. If the Chinese Communist Party implements this policy for decades, all ethnic minority dialects will disappear.
Enghebatu Togochog, Director of the South Mongolian Human Rights Information Center, a New York-based non-governmental organization, said the protest is a “civil disobedience resistance movement” that spreads throughout Inner Mongolia.
