The CCP forcibly canceled Mongolian language education in Inner Mongolia, citing tens of thousands of students and parents in many places to launch strikes and protest rallies. The Mongolian scholar Aricha revealed that the roads between several counties were blocked, and the connection between the parents of students and teachers was cut off: "Since yesterday (2nd), many roads between counties have been blocked. Aricha also revealed: "Yesterday, in Ganqika Town, Tongliao City, it seemed that two people were arrested for the crime of provoking quarrels. They called out a student by calling him at the school gate. A large number of people were at that time. Police gathered at the entrance of the school and captured the key people."

Many videos of police arresting and beating people in Inner Mongolia have been circulating on overseas social media in the past two days.

The Public Security Bureau of Kezuohou Banner of the Communist Party of China issued a notice on September 2 asking 9 persons involved in the case to surrender. The police alleged that the nine persons mentioned above gathered in primary and secondary schools in Ganqika Town, Agula Town, Hailutu Town, Gilgalang Town and other jurisdictions in Kezuohou Banner from August 28th to 30th. They were suspected of breaking the law. The reward is RMB 1,000.

Since the end of August, students and parents in Urad Middle Banner, Kulun Banner, Ordos City, Hohhot City and other places in Tongliao City have launched the largest demonstrations in a decade. The crowd sang Mongolian songs outside the Mongolian school and shouted The slogan called for the authorities to withdraw the bilingual education program, and a large number of parents refused to send their children to school in protest.

At the gate of a school, many male and female students in school uniforms shouted: "Our language is Mongolian, our everlasting homeland is Mongolia, our mother tongue is Mongolian, and we will continue to die for our mother tongue."

Police in many places in Inner Mongolia hunted down Mongolian students, forced them to return to school, beat protesters in the streets, and shut down many Mongolian WeChat groups. Local authorities in Inner Mongolia have also begun a large-scale inventory of Mongolian books, and all Mongolian books must be removed from the shelves.

A student of Shebotu Mongolian Middle School in Tongliao City jumped off the fourth floor of the school and died after learning that his mother had been beaten by the armed police. A local Mongolian told Radio Free Asia: “Because the parent’s mother who picked him up outside the school was beaten by the armed police, the student was in a hurry and jumped off the building. His mother has been arrested.”

Former Mongolian President Zahya Elbegdorj issued a video statement urging the Chinese government to respect the ethnic rights of Mongolians to maintain their mother tongue, and appealed to Mongolians around the world to support them.
