The Xinfadi wholesale market, which was regarded by the authorities as a "vegetable basket" in Beijing, had a covid outbreak. As a result, the wholesale market is closed and was taken over by a large number of armed personnel. No one could get in and out, and all meat and vegetables were thrown into the garbage station.

According to people familiar with the matter, 47 people were diagnosed positive with covid when less than 400 people were detected but the actual data may be as much as 10 times larger.

It is reported that the Xinfadi wholesale market supplies about 90% of Beijing's vegetables, which will inevitably result in a shortage of vegetables in Beijing. Now Beijingers have snapped up vegetables and rice in supermarkets. Some supermarket cucumbers have gone from 2.5 RMB a catty to 6 RMB a catty. In the future, even the most basic meals in Beijing have become a problem. The panic in Wuhan a few months ago has spread throughout Beijing!

Because the daily flow of the Xinfadi wholesale market is too large, with an average daily flow of more than 80,000 people, all who come here to buy food are: institutions, enterprises, schools, construction sites and other canteens, as well as supermarkets, stores, and vegetable markets. Wait, it's a place where people are super crowded. Therefore, the outbreak from here will affect the entire Beijing city.

According to a video released by a netizen, due to the sudden closure of the Xinfadi wholesale market, all the merchandise of the merchants in the market, including meat, fish and vegetables, had to be thrown into the garbage dump.

A man in the video said, "Throwing dozens of bags of grass carp. Throw it, throw it, 2 kilograms smaller. Throw it, throw it, the new garbage dump."

Even fresh vegetables are affected, and the whole bags of fresh vegetables were thrown into the garbage station. A female farmer in the video said, "Look at this new development, the dishes are all poured and not allowed to sell. No one buys, let out, let in, and the dishes are all done."

People in Beijing outside Zhongnanhai immediately feel the crisis, and the food in the supermarkets has been sold out. They questioned how to live in the future.
