Wang Yi's visit to Italy met with protests to end CCP's persecution of Falun Gong

Wang Yi's first stop during the Europe visit is Italy, which has always been friendly to the China Communist Party (CCP), but the country’s Prime Minister Conte refused to meet Wang Yi. The two sides only had a brief conversation on the phone. After a meeting with Wang Yi, the foreign minister Di Maio said that he mentioned the Hong Kong issue to Wang Yi and emphasized that the rights and freedoms of Hong Kong people must be respected.

During Wang Yi's stay in Italy, in addition to receiving diplomatic indifference, Nathan Law, a Hong Kong democrat in exile in Britain, went to Rome to protest. Nathan Law met with the Italian parliamentary group in Rome, and held a press conference in Rome, condemning the CCP, attracting a large number of media and becoming the focus of attention.

On the other side of the building of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, dozens of local Falun Gong practitioners held a protest against the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioners meditated and practiced in peaceful music, while hanging up banners such as "Stop Persecuting Falun Gong", "Falun Dafa is Good", and "Stop Live Organ Harvesting".

At the press conference that day, members of the Italian Lucio Malan (Lucio Malan), Federico Mollicone (Federico Mollicone), and former Foreign Minister Giulio Tzi di Santagata (Giulio Terzi di Sant'Agata) and the UN representative of the Radical Party, Laura Harth (Laura Harth) both condemned the CCP’s human rights violations and expressed solidarity and concern for the situation in Hong Kong and humanity.

These lawmakers have also repeatedly mentioned the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in the CCP. Former Foreign Minister Santagata stated that he would support the persecuted "nationalities, religions and minorities, especially Tibet and Xinjiang, as well as the 100 million Falun Gong practitioners who have been persecuted since the late 1990s."

Wang Yi visits the Netherlands, accompanied by protests calling for an end to persecution of Hong Kong, Christians, Muslims, Uyghurs and Buddhists

When Wang Yi's second stop is in the Netherlands. Dutch Representative Martijn van Helvert tweeted that Wang Yi was coming to save the relations between the two countries and invited Wang Yi to sit down in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament. The topics included "Taiwan, Hong Kong, Uyghurs, as well as Christians persecuted in China."

During the meeting, Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok and Wang Yi also expressed their concerns about Hong Kong's autonomy and human rights issues in China.

A post-Brock statement stated that Hong Kong’s arrest of journalists and members of the Legislative Council, the one-year postponement of the Legislative Council elections, and Beijing’s enforcement of the Hong Kong National Security Law are all worrisome. He is also concerned about CCP's suppression of religious freedom in PRC, including the situation of Muslims, Christians and Tibetan Buddhists, as well as the Uyghurs.

On the same day, Wang Yi encountered many demonstrations in the Netherlands. More than 70 Uyghurs in exile in the Netherlands, more than 10 Chinese dissidents, and many Hong Kongers were in the square in front of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in The Hague. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Dutch branch of the World Uyghur Congress and other places participated in the demonstrations.

Wang Yi says Nobel Peace Prize should not be politicized

Wang Yi visited Norway on 27 August and met Prime Minister Erna Solberg and Foreign Secretary Ine Eriksen Søreide. When Wang Yi met, the CCP’s persecution of human rights was on the table.

Norwegian Liberal Party leader and former Minister of Education Trine Skei Grande spoke during Wang Yi’s visit to protest against human rights. Norwegian lawmakers also suggested that Hong Kong protesters and Democrats be nominated to compete for the Nobel Peace Prize. Wang Yi responded that the Nobel Peace Prize should not be politicised. Is the Nobel Peace Prize not about politics? If Nobel Peace Prize is not about politics, then why were Nelson Mandela, Gandhi and famous political figures selected to win the Peace Prizes when they were alive?

Wang Yi warned the outside world not to interfere. He said that in the past, present and future, China firmly rejects anyone's attempts to use the Nobel Peace Prize to interfere in China's internal affairs. China stands firm and does not want to see anyone politicize the Nobel Peace Prize.

Wang Yi also mentioned the covid epidemic, pointing out that China was the first country to report SARS-CoV-2 to the World Health Organization and other countries, but it does not mean that the virus originated in China. He said that, in fact, reports and information in the past four months showed that covi appeared in different parts of the world, and the virus appeared earlier in many places than China.

Norway believes the CCP is not credible in international trade

When Wang Yi arrived in Norway, the relationship between the CCP and the Nordic countries was tense. Sweden closed all Confucius Institutes in the country and called for sanctions on the CCP and Hong Kong officials who introduced the Hong Kong National Security Law.

It is generally believed that the purpose of Wang Yi's trip to Norway was to lure and win European countries with interests and to divorce the transatlantic partnership between Europe and the United States.

On 27 August, the leader of the Norwegian Liberal Party, Grande, held a demonstration and rally with people from all walks of life outside the Norwegian Prime Minister’s residence to condemn the CCP’s human rights violations. Later, she said in an interview with reporters that on the Hong Kong issue, the CCP could openly violate the Sino-British Joint Declaration signed with the United Kingdom. This has already sounded the alarm for European leaders who want to do business with the CCP. When dealing with the CCP, they should consider whether the CCP is credible.

Grande said at the rally that she believes Solede, as the foreign minister of Norway, will definitely mention the CCP's human rights issues when meeting with Wang Yi. The human rights issue is regarded as a topic that Wang Yi cannot escape from this European trip. Before Solede and Wang Yi met, the issue was mentioned in the theme of the meeting of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Solede also publicly admitted at a subsequent press conference with Wang Yi that she had discussed this issue with Wang Yi.

Later, Grande said in an interview with reporters that the Hong Kong version of the National Security Law enforced by the Chinese Communist Party in Hong Kong clearly violated the agreement reached between China (the Chinese Communist Party) and a European country (the United Kingdom). She said: “This raises people’s concerns. That is whether the CCP is a reliable country with which international agreements can be reached. This has alerted Europe. We must consider whether we can conduct international trade with this country."

At the same time, organizations including the Norwegian Amnesty International, the Norwegian Uyghur Committee, the Norwegian Tibet Committee, the Hong Kong Committee, the Norwegian-Taiwan Friendship Association, and the Norwegian PEN, as well as Norwegian Falun Gong practitioners, held a protest rally outside the Norwegian Prime Minister’s residence. Norwegian Liberal Party leader Trine Skei Grande, Norwegian Conservative Party Member Amalie Gunnufsen, Norwegian Social Left Party Parliamentary Representative Petter Eide and Norwegian Green Party Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Sigrid Heiberg ) spoke at the assembly.

In his speech, Eide urged the Norwegian government to demand that the CCP pledge to ensure democracy in Hong Kong, and condemned the CCP’s detention of Uyghurs in Xinjiang. He said, “We cannot accept the CCP’s detention of 1 million Uyghurs in Xinjiang.” According to reports, more than 1 million Uyghurs are currently being held by the CCP in its “re-education camps” in Xinjiang.

Adiljan Abdurihim, secretary of the Norwegian Uyghur Committee, said that the Norwegian government should be cautious in dealings with the CCP when the CCP implements its genocide policy in Xinjiang.

Expert: Wang Yi's trip is to separate the alliance between the United States and Norway

According to a report on the Quartz website on 26 August, Norwegian experts believe that Wang Yi’s trip is to separate the transatlantic partnership on the one hand, and to spy on the Arctic region on the other, because Norway is one of the eight largest Arctic countries in the Arctic Ocean (the other seven countries are Canada, the United States, Russia, Iceland, Denmark, Finland and Sweden).

Henrik Stålhane Hiim, a China expert at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, said that since Norway is a NATO member and a close ally of the United States, Wang Yi's trip has one purpose, that is to try to divorce the relationship between the United States and Norway. He said, "Wang Yi's mission is prevent Norway from joining the anti-CCP alliance formed by the United States."

Una Bērziņa-Čerenkova, an expert at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs who specializes in the CCP’s “One Belt One Road”, said that the two foreign ministers’ discussion topics announced by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also included discussions on the two countries’ cooperation in the Arctic climate and development. The CCP has always promoted its own interests under the guise of scientific research or cultural protection. She said: "China (the CCP) claims that it is promoting global interests in the Arctic Ocean, but it is actually watching the Arctic region."

Wang Yi visits France, people call for attention to human rights in China

When Wang Yi arrived in France on the 28th, French President Macron will personally hold talks with Wang Yi. Fa Guang said that not only scholars questioned that Macron's personal meeting with Wang Yi was not in accordance with the principle of reciprocity, but local Uighur organizations and organizations defending Hong Kong have all appealed. Macron is concerned about human rights in China.

French Foreign Minister Le Drian said in a speech at the university on 26 August that "China (the CCP) is not only our partner, but also a competitor and an opponent in the system."

The French Foreign Minister emphasized that we should obtain reciprocal market opening from the CCP. Le Drian mentioned that the CCP (to foreign companies) has been implementing many restrictive regulations, such as "compulsory technology transfer" and "unfair competition" with Chinese companies. Wait.

As Wang Yi visits Germany, German parliamentarians want the government to be tough

Wang Yi's last stop is Berlin, Germany. Before he came, many German parliamentarians had stated that Germany could not make concessions to the CCP on the Hong Kong issue.

Gyde Jensen (MdB, FDP), a federal member of the Liberal Democratic Party and chairperson of the Human Rights Commission, tweeted that the German government must put the Hong Kong and Xinjiang issues on the table. The talks were held under the shadow of the "Hong Kong version of the National Security Law" that violated international law. During the conversation between the two parties, they should not make concessions to the CCP but should consider the consequences.

German Green Party member of Parliament, Jürgen Trittin (MdB, Grüne) also stated that when Wang Yi was traveling around Europe, Hong Kong Democratic Party members Lin Cheuk Ting and Xu Zhifeng were arrested, pointing out that "democratic elections do not work like this."

K, a Hong Kong student studying in Germany, told Radio Free Asia that the Chinese authorities had lied to cause the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic to spread globally, and subsequently forced Hong Kong’s national security law to awaken the world, including Europe, which has always been conservative and moderate to the CCP, and countered the CCP’s public opinion. In all cases, Wang Yi's coldness and protests showed the CCP's plight in world politics in the future.

K said that in 2019, there are "anti-send to China" protests. In addition to the epidemic in 2020, there is the Hong Kong's national security law. These issues have become international issues. European countries have regarded the Communist Party as a threat and finally discovered that the CCP has invaded other countries. Of course, Wang Yi is here to fight the fire. How can the fire keep them from saving it? The CCP can only be countered by other countries.

Finnish democrat and current commentator Li Fang also believes that Wang Yi's visit to Europe has the intention of uniting Europe against the United States. However, Wang Yi has been coldly treated all the way. Western countries have become completely indifferent to it. On the most critical issues of democracy and human rights in Hong Kong, Europe and the United States are on the same front. The CCP’s intentions are obviously unrealistic, and Wang Yi should be ashamed of his trips.
