Recently, the border between China and North Korea triggered another fire incident due to fishing problems. A North Korean patrol boat fired on a Chinese fishing boat, killing at least three people. Last month, a Chinese fishing boat that entered North Korea’s waters to fish in the waters collided with a North Korean patrol boat, which is believed to be the fuse that led to the North Korean shooting.

According to a South Korean online newspaper "Daily NK" (Daily NK) reported on Monday (24th), last Friday, a source in China who requested anonymity for security reasons brought news. On August 11, a North Korean patrol boat directed A Chinese fishing boat illegally fishing in North Korean waters opened fire, killing three Chinese fishermen on the spot.

At that time, Chinese fishing boats were illegally fishing on the west coast of North Korea, near the coastal waters of Haeju and Ongjin County in southern Yellow Sea Province.

Chinese fishing boats usually work in pairs. This time there are about 10 fishing boats. North Korean patrol boats followed one of them and opened fire on it.

The source said that until last year, the North Korean patrol boat did not make any threats because it could receive "tips." They usually fire warning shots, and of course they may hit other ships. However, this time, they shot directly at the fishermen and killed them.

Sources believe that the shooting was most likely to retaliate for the collision in July. The Chinese fishing boat that was shot was towed away by other ships in the fleet. According to reports, the Chinese authorities have been working hard to ensure that the news will not leak.

Recently, tensions between China and North Korea seem to be intensifying. Another recent incident forced the Chinese authorities to temporarily ban fishing boats from fishing in the waters of Dandong, which faces North Korea’s Sinuiju across the river.

The source said that in June, an empty Chinese fishing boat was found in the waters near Dandong, covered with bloody footprints and even a human ear. After the Chinese government conducted an investigation, they concluded that the North Korean Coast Guard might have done it. He added that because there was no way to obtain evidence, the Chinese authorities appeared to have put the case aside.

A source in North Pyongan Province who was aware of the incident explained that such an "unfortunate incident" occurred because the border between China and North Korea was closed, and North Korean soldiers received less "tip" income than before.

"Due to the CCP virus, the North Korean military has been prohibited from going to sea to make money, and they have become more cruel," the source added, "their piracy and even murder have made many Chinese people feel terrified."

In addition, "Daily Korea" has been confirmed by multiple sources that in order to ensure that North Korea's celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party on October 10 is not affected by the CCP virus, the North Korean authorities recently ordered the suspension of all border trade between China and North Korea starting Tuesday.
