Goodwin: Biden can no longer hide in the basement, must reveal medical report

The famous American columnist Michael Goodwin said that Biden’s story as a presidential candidate is more like the "chief comforter" of the campaign , His physical and mental health are more concerned by the general public. Biden’s speech accepting the president’s nominee delivered on the last day of the virtual Democratic convention was not smashed. It was passable. But in the future, he can no longer continue to hide in the basement for fear of exposing his physical and mental problems as before, and he can no longer refuse to see the media.

Goodwin published an article in the New York Post on Friday (August 21) saying that Biden did it, and he did it. On the last night of the virtual Democratic National Convention, Biden completed the most important speech of his life cleanly and consistently, without stammering, muttering to himself or losing his eyes.

This sounds like an incredibly low threshold, but it reflects an honest and serious debate about Biden's health. He is 77 years old. Past health problems and obvious signs indicate that his physical and mental condition is different from what it used to be. This raises an unprecedented question as to whether he can complete a routine step in the nomination process of a major party. Accept the speech nominated by the presidential candidate.

In the virtual coronation ceremony of the Democratic Party, the test of Biden is not whether his speech is good or bad, but whether he can complete the speech.

So congratulations to Biden for removing a basic obstacle. Now that the standard has been raised, he should be asked the same as any other candidate. He can publish his health and medical reports first, but he has refused to do so so far.

Most importantly, he no longer has any excuses to hide in his basement. Hidden Biden must become history.

He must stand in the sun, protect himself from the coronavirus (Chinese Communist Party virus), embark on a campaign journey, and tell the American people his political platform after assuming office.

If he can't do it or doesn't want to do it, how can he be president? Will he isolate himself in the Oval Office?

If he continues to hide from the public eye, his many promises will be meaningless, including defeating the deadly virus, creating jobs, tackling climate change, "eliminating racism", and uniting the country. It also includes his accusation that President Trump's response to the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) is "unforgivable", and that giving him a four-year presidency will continue to "inflame hatred and the flames of division."

If voters understand the real situation, these statements are bound to be challenged. But not yet.

So far, Biden has refused to accept interviews, which is very different from the situation in other modern presidential elections.

Some Democratic supporters even proposed to cancel the three debates in the fall, which is also unacceptable.

Biden has been out of the protective shell, and now he can no longer wrap himself up.

As for the actual content of his speech, it is more plain than passion. He used simple and sharp contrast to express his thoughts. Light and darkness, hope and fear, are almost always expressed in short sentences.

There are two things worth noting. One is that he did not explicitly commit to the huge, socialist things that the left wing demanded, although this does not mean that the problem has been resolved. The goal of Bernie Sanders and his team is obviously to help Biden get elected and then push him to the extreme left.

The other is that he did not mention the violent crimes spreading across cities across the country. For example, in places such as Seattle and Portland, anarchists directly attacked police and courts. These are no longer protests against the death of Floyd (George Floyd).

In addition, ordinary crimes have also increased significantly because the mayors and governors of the Democratic Party restricted and abandoned the police, resulting in a security vacuum. This is a major urban crisis, and neither Biden nor anyone else said a word during the four nights of the Democratic convention.

This is shameful, but it also provides an opportunity for Trump's campaign.

Just like the first three nights of the convention, the Democrats’ goal is to portray Trump as a devil and Biden as a saint. We have heard too many stories about Biden's family tragedy and his sympathy for others in grief, as if he was running for the "chief comforter."

There is no doubt that this arrangement is related to the pandemic, but the endless repetition makes the audience feel as if they are forced to instill a fabricated political image rather than a real biographical sketch.

Part of this image is to add faith content to the program. Senator Chris Coons gave Biden a sermon similar to a devout Catholic. He promised that the president’s nominee, Biden, would become a "public servant leader," and quoted from the Book of Micah, insisting that the president’s nominee “knows that we are required to do justice, love and mercy, and walk humbly with our God”.

If Republicans regard faith as a quality of the president, the secular left will go crazy and claim that this is a threat to the separation of church and state. And this time no such accusation was made against the Democratic Party. Is it because of progress or hypocrisy? ——It is more hypocritical.
