Garuda Indonesia restarts domestic passenger flights during the pandemic

Garuda Indonesia has restarted domestic passenger flights since 15 August 2020. The flights bypass Jakarta, the worst-hit city in Indonesia by the pandemic. 

The new domestic routes include Makassar - Balikpapan, Surabaya - Lombok, Banjarmasin - Yogyakarta, Bandung - Denpasar, Makassar - Manado, Balikpapan - Yogyakarta, Palembang - Yogyakarta and Surabaya - Balikpapan among 16 domestic routes.

Indonesia has a total number of 162,884 confirmed covid cases as of 28 August 2020 at 10 am. The death toll is 7,064.
