Inaugural test flights to Chengdu Tianfu International Airport on 22 January 2021

Sichuan Airlines, Air China, China Eastern, Lucky Air, Chengdu Airlines and China Southern perform their respective inaugural test flights from Chengdu Shuangliu to Chengdu Tianfu airports on 22 January 2021.

The following aircraft were deployed for the test flights: A330-300 (Sichuan Airlines), B747-800 (Air China), B777-300ER (China Eastern), B737-800 (Lucky Air), ARJ21-700 (Chengdu Airlines) and A380 (China Southern).

Chengdu Tianfu or simply Tianfu (TFU) will start official airport operations before 30 June 2021. Before that date, a series of test flights will be conducted. After Tianfu starts serving international flight operations,  Chengdu Shuangliu continues to be the city's main airport serving domestic flights and regional flights to Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Sichuan Airlines, Chengdu Airlines and Air China will operate international and domestic flights at both airports.
