The clustered epidemics in Urumqi, Xinjiang and Dalian, Liaoning continued to ferment. On the 23rd, Urumqi has newly confirmed 13 cases and 19 asymptomatic infections while Dalian has 2 newly confirmed cases and 15 asymptomatic infections.

The Dalian Municipal Health Commission reported on the 24th that Dalian added 9 more confirmed cases and 27 asymptomatic infections. The above-mentioned cases are all close contacts of the newly confirmed cases on the 22nd and are employees of an aquatic product processing enterprise. Dalian officials have declared that they have entered a "wartime" state and resolutely curbed the spread of the epidemic.

Xinjiang and Liaoning increase local confirmed cases, the number of asymptomatic infections increases

The National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China(PRC) notified on the 24th that 21 new cases were confirmed in mainland China on the 23rd, including 6 imported cases (5 in Guangdong and 1 in Shanghai) and 15 local cases (13 in Xinjiang and 2 in Liaoning). A total of 2029 imported confirmed cases overseas. On that day, 43 cases of asymptomatic infection were newly added, 11 cases were converted to confirmed cases, and 204 cases of asymptomatic infection were still under medical observation.

As of  12 am on 24 July, there are currently 243 confirmed cases in mainland China, 78,873 cured and discharged, 4634 deaths, and 83,750 confirmed cases have been reported.

On 23 July, 43 cases of asymptomatic infections were newly added in PRC, setting a new high every day since April 19 (49 cases). The 204 cases of asymptomatic infections still under medical observation have exceeded 200 cases again since June 7 (201 cases).

Epidemic prevention and control in Dalian entered a "wartime" state

The Dalian Municipal Health Commission notified on 24 July at 3 pm 9 more confirmed cases (all asymptomatic infections were transferred to diagnosis) and 27 asymptomatic infections in Dalian. The above-mentioned cases are all close contacts of the newly confirmed cases on 22 July and are employees of an aquatic product processing enterprise.

The latest meeting held by the Dalian City Headquarters for Coordinating and Promoting Epidemic Prevention and Control and Economic and Social Development pointed out that there have been consecutive confirmed cases of covid in Dalian, and the epidemic prevention and control situation is severe. The whole city should quickly enter a wartime state and resolutely curb the spread of the epidemic.

Dalian official on 24 July issued an announcement stating that from now on, the whole city will not leave Dalian unless it is necessary in principle. Those who do need to leave must hold a negative nucleic acid test certificate within 7 days. The city’s employees in refrigerated and frozen meat and seafood enterprises or places should implement nucleic acid testing as soon as possible.

On the 23rd, Dalian Bay Street, Ganjingzi District, and Workers Village Community, Xianglujiao Street, Xigang District, were upgraded to medium-risk areas. The Dalian Health Commission said on  24 July that the two medium-risk areas have been fully closed and eliminated. As of 23 July, nearly 25,000 person-times have been sampled in the two medium-risk areas, and the city has accumulated 56,691 nucleic acid tests.

The National Health Commission has assembled a team of 18 experts and arrived in Dalian to guide the local epidemic prevention and control work.

Urumqi has completed sampling of more than 2.3 million samples, and is strengthening efforts to trace the source of the epidemic

The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Health Commission reported that on the 23rd, Xinjiang had 13 newly confirmed cases (11 of which were asymptomatic infections transferred to be diagnosed) and 19 asymptomatic infections, all in Urumqi. As of 24:00 on the 23rd, Xinjiang has 95 confirmed cases (93 in Urumqi, 1 in Kashgar, 1 in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps), 85 asymptomatic infections (all in Urumqi), and 3346 people are still under medical observation.

At a press conference on 24 July, Urumqi Mayor Yasheng Sidike said that as the scope of nucleic acid testing continues to expand, there have been sporadic cases and asymptomatic infections in Urumqi. Based on domestic and foreign experience and epidemics According to the law, a considerable number of asymptomatic infections will turn into confirmed cases after the incubation period. In the next step, Urumqi will continue to make every effort to improve nucleic acid testing capabilities, strengthen epidemiological investigation and traceability, and go all out to treat patients.

Up to now, Urumqi has collected a total of 2,309,537 samples.

Tracing the source of the Urumqi epidemic is important because there has been talk in Urumqi that the epidemic may be rekindled by a woman returning from Kazakhstan. She did not undergo temperature check and the other necessary anti-epidemic prevention procedures while entering Urumqi to attend a wedding banquet with 1000 attendees. Netizens commented that this woman must have a background or otherwise it is impossible to escape isolation.

Originally, the CCP never missed the opportunity to shirk virus responsibility to foreign countries. However, this time it came out on 20 July 2020 to refute the rumours that the source of the virus was not a returned woman who had not been found. It has been 5 days, and the source of the virus has not been found in Urumqi, which is closely monitored. It is really not in line with the CCP’s nature of getting rid of the pot for the first time. Netizens are looking forward to more revelations about the tricky things in it. Let’s go on to talk about the virus.

Where is the geographic location of Xinjiang? On the side of Kazakhstan, it can be said that the flow of personnel between the two sides is very frequent. If SARS-CoV-2 mutates into a variant with a high mortality rate, and this variant is prevalent in Kazakhstan and Xinjiang at the same time, the closure of Urumqi is more dangerous than Wuhan, and this may be the most terrifying thing to happen since the initial covid outbreak in Wuhan.
