At 12.45 pm on 18 July 2020, China Southern Airlines flight CZ6547, carrying the Wuhan Xinjiang Medical Team, arrived at Urumqi Diwopu International Airport.
There are 21 members of the Wuhan Medical Team assisting Xinjiang this time, from 3 hospitals including Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital, Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital, and Wuhan First Hospital. More than 100 pieces of various medical testing instruments and medical supplies were consigned on the same plane.
Guo Jianjian, a doctor from Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital who arrived in Xinjiang for the first time, said,: “We will definitely provide assistance within our capacity for the prevention and control of the epidemic in Urumqi, and enjoy the infinite charm of Xinjiang when the battle against the epidemic is successful!”
According to Rui Baoling, director of the Urumqi CDC, from 15 July to 12 am on 18 July, there are 17 confirmed cases and 23 asymptomatic infections in Urumqi. Based on the results of epidemiological investigations and laboratory tests, this round of epidemic is mainly associated with a cluster of activities. The epidemic develops rapidly. The diagnosed and asymptomatic infections are mainly concentrated in Tianshan District, Urumqi, and are all centralized medical observers. Currently, the confirmed cases are all common and mild.
