In response to the continuing deterioration of US-China relations, some economists said that the United States now recognizes the CCP as the main threat and has begun to deal with the CCP in an all-round way, and the United States still has three major denials of the political legitimacy of the People’s Republic of China. One of them is "restoration of diplomatic relations with the Republic of China."
Taiwan’s general economist Wu Jialong posted on Facebook on 13 August that the United States now recognizes that the CCP is a major threat to the United States. Whether it is about interests, security, or ideology, the CCP is the target the United States has to deal with in all aspects.
He went on to say that the CCP is hostile to the United States, and the United States also feels this hostility, so it wants to start dealing with the CCP. Then, how does the United States want the CCP's life? The answer is simple, it is to deny the political legitimacy of the People's Republic of China! There are some practices under consideration.
For example, firstly, define the CCP as a terrorist organization and a criminal group. Secondly, cancel the CCP’s sovereign immunity. Thirdly, allow the American people to file a class action lawsuit against the CCP and begin to claim compensation for the spread of the epidemic.
The most important point is to deny the political legitimacy of the People’s Republic of China and restore diplomatic relations with the Republic of China. The CCP’s seat in the United Nations is claimed to have inherited the Republic of China, and the nine-dash line drawn by its claim of territoriality and sovereignty in the South China Sea is actually inherited from the Republic of China.
Wu Jialong said that the political legitimacy of the entire People's Republic of China is based on the succession of the Republic of China. What the United States means is that it does not intend to continue to recognize China's legitimate government as the Chinese Communist government. The United States wants to challenge the political legitimacy and legitimacy of the CCP!
He analyzed that if the United States wants to restore diplomatic relations with Taiwan, the first possibility is to restore diplomatic relations with the Republic of China, rather than directly recognize the Republic of Taiwan. According to the current situation, the United States may use the flag of the Republic of China to deny the People’s Republic of China.

U.S. Secretary of Health Alex Azar visited Taiwan from 9 t0 12 August 2020. His visit to Taiwan is the first by a U.S. Secretary of Health. He is also the highest ranking member of the U.S. government cabinet since 1979, demonstrating the firm support of the United States for the Republic of China and Taiwan and the United States. Close and friendly relations are of great significance.
On the day of Alex Azar’s trip to Taiwan, the US Embassy in Beijing replaced the WeChat account and Twitter account with new badges and deleted the word "China" and arouse various interpretations. Some analysts believe that this is a warning from Trump and Pompeo to the Chinese Communist regime. They do not recognize that the Chinese Communist regime represents China. If the Chinese Communist Party insists on going its own way, the United States will establish diplomatic relations with the Republic of China.
The U.S. sternly sanctions the CCP
In recent months, due to Beijing's concealment of the epidemic, SARS-CoV-2 has spread to the world. The CCP has enforced Hong Kong’s national security law and suppressed human rights in Hong Kong before the epidemic has dissipated. This has sharply deteriorated US-China relations. Recently, the Trump administration in the United States has launched an endless stream of attacks and sanctions against the CCP, taking actions almost every day.
In the past less than three weeks, the White House has continuously opened fire on Beijing on issues of finance, technology, national security, and human rights. Specific measures include closing the Chinese Consulate in Houston, putting forward a “clean network” initiative, and launching the delisting of Chinese companies listed in the United States. Procedures and plans to ban WeChat and TikTok (TikTok overseas version), the two most important Chinese applications, sanction 11 senior Chinese and Hong Kong officials, and send cabinet officials to visit Taiwan.
In addition to the previous US trade pressure, the passage of the "Hong Kong Bill of Rights", "Uyghur Bill of Rights" and sanctions on high-tech companies such as Huawei and ZTE have cancelled Hong Kong's free port status, designated Chinese media as foreign agents and restricted the Chinese Communist Party. Journalist visas and a series of heavy speeches directed at the CCP by American dignitaries have made the world deeply aware of the major changes in US-China relations. The United States is taking a series of actions to sanction and contain the CCP.
On 12 August, U.S. Senator Cotton said in an interview with Fox News that "Beijing has not yet seen the real actions of the United States."
Pompeo said while participating in a program hosted by a former White House spokesperson that the United States is now seriously fighting back against the CCP, whether it is trade or diplomats, or the CCP’s information propaganda, false information propaganda activities, or any act against the United States will triggera response from President Trump.
When asked how to deal with the CCP, Pompeo said that "we have a long series of actions under consideration." The purpose is to change the CCP's behaviour. He reiterated that when dealing with the CCP, we must first distrust and then verify.
Pompeo emphasized that any action against the United States will receive a response from President Trump.
