There is a covid case in the Jinjiang Hotel in Chengdu, Sichuan. The hotel is currently locked down closed and the guests are locked in the hotel.

 An online video shows that Jinjiang Hotel in Chengdu, Sichuan is locked down due to a case of covid, and its guests are locked in the hotel. On 16 November 2020, the hotel issued a notice acknowledging that there are asymptomatic infections. Another online picture shows that 55 general contacts have appeared in Chenghua District, Chengdu, near Jinjiang Hotel.

According to the local Chuanguan News, the relevant person in charge of the Sichuan Tourism Investment Group, which belongs to Jinjiang Hotel, stated that on 14 November, asymptomatic infections appeared among overseas guests staying in the hotel.

On 16 November, the official WeChat report of Sichuan Jinjiang Hotel stated that after an asymptomatic infection was found, close contacts were taken to a designated quarantine hotel in the early hours of November 15 for quarantine, and nucleic acid tests were performed on guests and staff in the museum overnight. The hotel has suspended all business activities and locked down the entire building. Except for breakfast, at least 1,000 lunches are delivered every day to every guest room.

On 15 November, some guests staying in the hotel sent a video showing that Jinjiang Hotel is completely closed and guests are prohibited from leaving the hotel. At 3 am, guests will be waken up for nucleic acid testing. People who were suspected of returning from Nigeria checked into the hotel and tested positive after experiencing physical discomfort.

The video shooter said, “The hotel is closed and no one can get out”, “Only that one person is okay”, “The guests of the hotel are like enemies”, “Everyone hangs two buns on the door in the morning. It’s noon and there’s no food”, “Everyone needs serum tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. If there is no problem, they can leave. If the second case is found, he will stay here for 15 days, which is very troublesome.”

The photographer also stated that the hotel was full of guests; the suspected case returned from Nigeria and was quarantined in Guangzhou for 14 days. After arriving in Chengdu, he was quarantined for another 14 days. Nucleic acid tests were performed. After staying at the hotel on November 9, he was unwell on the 14th. The nucleic acid test was positive.

The photographer said, "Everyone who stayed in on the 9th will be investigated, and none of us staying in the hotel can leave." "All wearing masks, all begging for food here, no food."

The Epoch Times reporter checked the map and found that Jinjiang District where Jinjiang Hotel is located is adjacent to Chenghua District.

In addition, an online source shows that the epidemic prevention and control team of Chengdu's Chenghua District reported that 55 general contacts lived in the district, which is located near Chengdu Panda Research Base.

However, the notification did not clearly indicate whether this general contact was related to the Jinjiang Hotel case. The notice was signed on 15 November 2020, just after the case occurred in Jinjiang Hotel.
