Not all Chinese passport holders can join Singapore - Hong Kong travel bubble flights

Report by : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA

According to a netizen of Singapore Eye, not all Chinese passport holders can join the one-way Singapore - Hong Kong travel bubble flights SQ890 and CX734. Prerequisites: Go to Chinese Visa Application Center in Robinson Road during office working hours on Mondays to Thursdays, submit a Hong Kong arrival / transit application form (ID1003A), original Chinese passport and its copy and a copy of one-way travel bubble flight ticket.

The Chinese Visa Application Center for the time being does not accept Hong Kong transit applications by Chinese migrant workers holding on work permits issued by the Ministry of Manpower or S pass. These workers are from the maritime, construction, processing industries and non-permit holders transiting in Singapore for onward departures to Hong Kong. Therefore, the privilege appears to open to Chinese diplomats and Chinese expatriates initially.

Contact Chinese Visa Application Center between 8.30 am and 12 pm, 2.30 pm and 5 pm at 64712117, 89386376 or 89386377 for emergency information or further enquiries or browse http://www.chinaembassy.org.sg/chn/1/sfw for details.

Chinese passport holders going back to the People's Republic of China via Hong Kong from Singapore must undergo covid symptom testing prior to departure.

The first Singapore - Hong Kong travel bubble flight takes place on 22 November 2020. This will also be the first tourism revenue flight for Chinese passport holders from Singapore.
