As of 12 pm on 11 July 2020, Singapore has reported 170 new covid cases, 24 of which are community cases and one imported case, with a total of 45,783 cases.

The Ministry of Health issued a statement saying that seven new cases of community infections were local citizens or permanent residents, and 17 cases were work permit holders.

Initial investigations revealed that five community cases had close contact with previous cases and had been quarantined.

The imported case is fulfilling the stay-home notice after entry into Singapore.

The remaining new cases are all guest workers living in dormitories.

At present, the cumulative number of local confirmed cases reached 45,783.

The authorities are collecting details of new cases and will provide more details tonight.

Last week, the number of community cases increased to an average of 16 cases per day

On 10 July 2020, there are 191 newly confirmed cases, 16 of which were community cases and one imported case.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, 174 of the 191 new cases are work permit holders living in dormitories, 16 are new community cases, and one imported case.

The imported case on 10 July 2020 is a Singapore permanent resident who entered Singapore from India on 6 July 2020. She immediately fulfilled the 14-day home notice immediately after arriving in the country and was tested for covid during this period.

The notice mentioned that the number of cases in the community rose last week, from an average of nine per day to an average of 16 per day. At the same time, unrelated cases also increased, from an average of five daily to nine daily average.

Two additional cases of family infection in Tampines

Of the 16 community cases, eight were related to previous cases or infection groups. Among them, a 7-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy belonged to a family infection group in HDB Blk 111, Tampines 11th Street.

There is currently no evidence that the two families living in the same HDB house spread SARS-CoV-2 to others. At present, 123 residents and visitors have been tested negative, but the Ministry of Health will continue to pay close attention to the situation.

Another eight cases were temporarily unrelated to other cases; four patients engaged in necessary services were found to be infected due to active inspection by the authorities, and three of them showed no symptoms.

Yesterday, another 135 people were discharged from the hospital, and the total number of rehabilitation patients increased to 41,780. There is still one patient under treatment in the intensive care unit. There are no new infection groups on 10 July.
