The first case in Taiwan! The Central Epidemic Command Center announced on 10 May 2021 a suspected serious adverse event after SARS-CoV-2 (CCP virus) vaccination. The person involved is a woman. She had a pregnancy test one day before the vaccination, and the result was negative. The vaccination was carried out the next day. After vaccination she learned of pregnancy unexpectedly but there was no fetal heart sound during the birth check, and finally the vaccinator agreed to undergo abortion treatment.
In response, spokesperson Zhuang Renxiang said that there are currently no relevant cases in the world showing that vaccination is related to stillbirth and miscarriage. The woman had a pregnancy test one day before the vaccination, and the result was negative.
The Command Centre announced today that since 22 March, the cumulative number of vaccinated people in Taiwan has reached 92,049, of which 67,289 were vaccinated at public expense and 24,760 were vaccinated at their own expense. As of 9 May, a new case of a suspected serious adverse event after vaccination has been notified.
Zhuang Renxiang said that the case was a woman in her 20s. She was vaccinated in late March and had a pregnancy test the day before. The result was negative. The next day after the vaccination, a common maladaptation occurred, and the symptoms lasted about 1 day. He further pointed out that a while after the vaccine was given, the woman learned that she was pregnant before she was vaccinated."
At the time, there was no fetal heart sound.
A few days ago, the pregnancy test revealed that the woman was pregnant. After vaccination, she should be pregnant. She was 9 weeks pregnant during the first check-up at the beginning of May, and there was no fetal heart sound. Finally, after the woman’s consent, the doctor gave an abortion treatment. It is reported that the woman had been pregnant 3 times and had 1 child. She is currently resting at home.
Afterwards, Zhuang Renxiang mentioned that there is currently no international evidence showing that AZ vaccination is related to stillbirth, and there are no related cases in other countries. However, in the past, during a flu pandemic, after pregnant women had finished flu vaccines, stillbirths and miscarriages occurred later, but in terms of probability, the probability of a pregnant woman having a miscarriage or stillbirth is about 12.8%. At present, it can only be said that there is no evidence that there is a correlation between the two in the world.
