Changi Airport will implement stricter zoning management measures to restrict the movement of people, while stipulating that only personnel who have completed two doses of the covi vaccine can work in high-risk areas.

The authorities also plan to allow those who work in high-risk areas to undergo "non-invasive" rapid virus testing after finishing their daily work.

Under the new arrangement, Changi Airport Group will divide the passenger terminal into three areas. The first area is the highest risk area, including the boarding gate, arrival hall and baggage claim hall; the second area is the central transit area, and the third area is the public area.

A total of 4,400 staff work in the highest risk area. They will wear the highest level of protective equipment and will stay in the first area during the entire period of duty, and will not have any contact with the staff in the second and third areas.

Arrivals from high-risk areas will be escorted to the boarding gate of the second terminal for customs clearance procedures. They will then be sent directly to the isolation facility by bus, and will not pass through other operating passenger terminals.

In addition, the group will only arrange for younger employees who have been vaccinated with two doses to be on duty in high-risk areas. They will also receive non-invasive covid tests in the future, such as respiratory tests.

Changi Airport Group will also further improve the air filtration system in the passenger terminal and adopt high-efficiency particulate air filters to reduce the risk of virus transmission.
