Of the 9 local cases reported on 1 May 2021 in Singapore, 7 are local community cases and 2 are guest worker dormitory cases.
Up to 4 unrelated community cases
Among the 7 local community cases, in addition to the above 3 cases belonging to the “62541 Infection Group” of Tan Tock Seng Hospital, the other 4 cases were unrelated as the source of infection is not yet clear. This is more troublesome.
Other than an 88-year-old woman from hospital infection group died of covid, cases appeared in SMU, a secondary school, a multinational company, a spa and a migrant worker dormitory

SMU Singapore Management University
19-year-old student diagnosed asymptomatic
A 19-year-old girl, a permanent resident of Singapore (No. 62685), is a student of SMU Singapore Management University. Except for 21 April, she usually takes online classes.
She entered the country from India on 28 December 2020 and performed SHN quarantine at a designated place. During the quarantine period, the current investigation revealed that she was a close contact of the 58784th case (a 42-year-old male permanent resident of Singapore who developed symptoms on 27 April and was diagnosed on 28 April) on the flight. Therefore, she was placed in a centralized quarantine starting from 29 April to 11 May. During the quarantine period, the test result was negative on 8 May.
On 28 April, she was going to go abroad and underwent a pre-departure test. On 29 April, the test result was positive, confirmed, and asymptomatic, and she was taken to Changi General Hospital in a special ambulance.
Her CT value is very high, indicating that the virus content in the body is very low but the serum antibody test is positive, which means a previous infection. The authorities judged that she was shedding virus fragments and was not contagious. However, because the authorities could not conclude that she was infected outside the country. She was determined as a local community case and related mitigation measures were initiated.

22-year-old spa therapist diagnosed with runny nose
A 22-year-old Malaysian woman (Case 62,686) is a spa therapist at Spa 9 at No. 41, Holland Passage. On 28 April, she developed a runny nose and went to a private clinic for medical treatment and was tested. She was diagnosed on 29 April. The result of her serum antibody test was negative, indicating a recent infection.

50-year-old manager of a multinational company diagnosed with fever
A 50-year-old female Singapore permanent resident (Case 62688) is the manager of DIC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd located at 78 Shenton Way. DIC is a multinational company that has the largest share of printing inks, organic pigments, and PPS compounds in the global market, and conducts business in more than 60 countries and regions around the world.
In the past month, she only went to work at the company on 26 and 27 April.
She traveled to Japan from 13 March to 9 April. After returning to Singapore, she was quarantined at a designated place for SHN, which ended on 23 April. During the quarantine, she was tested on 22 April and the result was negative.
On 27 April, she developed muscle soreness. On 28 April, she developed fever. On 29 April, she went to a private clinic for medical treatment and was tested. On 30 April, the test result was positive, the diagnosis was confirmed, and she was sent to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases in a special ambulance. Her serum antibody test was negative, indicating a recent infection.
Unrelated cases (4):
A 15-year-old female student at Edgefield Secondary School diagnosed with sore throat
A 15-year-old Singaporean girl (Case 62690) is a student of Edgefield Secondary School in Punggol. The last time she came to school was 29 April.
On 28 April, she developed symptoms of sore throat. On 29 April, she developed symptoms of runny nose and anorexia. She reported her symptoms to her teacher and sought medical treatment in a private clinic for testing. On 30 April, the test result was positive and the diagnosis was confirmed, and she was taken to the NUH National University Hospital in a special ambulance. Her serum test result did not come out.
All close contacts of the girl have been quarantined. The school has taken additional measures to test all students, faculty and suppliers for SARS-CoV-2. The school will conduct online teaching for four days from 4 to 7 May.
